The official app for Blue Bikes, New Orleans' bike share system. Blue Bikes consists of a fleet of specially designed, sturdy, and durable pedal-assist e-bikes. Bikeshare is a greener, healthier way to get around. Whether you’re heading to work, meeting friends for dinner, or just exploring the city, Blue Bikes offer a convenient, fun, and healthy way to experience the city you love. The Blue Bikes Nola App gives you access to bicycles in your area — unlock and pay directly from the app and get going. The Blue Bikes Nola App also shows a map of neighborhoods in our service area. These neighborhoods include the French Quarter, Tremé, Central Business District (CBD), the Lower Garden District, Central City, the Marigny, Bywater, Mid-City, and Bayou St. John. Blue Bikes are sponsored by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana and serve as a seamless extension of the existing public transit infrastructure here in New Orleans. Stay rolling!
Card can be temporarily charged but the ride doesn’t start
As the title says, my card was able to be temporarily charged but the actual payment for the ride would not go through. Bike wouldn’t unlock. Honestly pretty infuriating
Rip off “out of hub” charge
How a city center is “out of hub” is ridiculous. It IS the hub. $2 rip off every time you ride it to anywhere you want to use a bike and not a car.
The app won’t load and I’m here trying to rent
The app wont load its ridiculous
Bad review
Battery dead. Handlebar grip not fixed to the bar.
Too complicated for me
The app is confusing to me. It’s pretty difficult to do all the things required while standing on the side of a busy road. If you make a mistake entering information, it’s very difficult to correct the problem. You can’t simply update the credit card info, you can only add a new card which then has the exact same name. The motors on the bikes only work half the time. And the seat on mine was filled with water.
Bike won’t unlock—blue bikes charged me $75
Held a bike outside of the zone. Tried to unlock it to ride back, and it would not work! I tried to contact customer service, which “doesn’t do phone calls”. After refusing to help unless I somehow moved a locked bike back into the zone a mile away and being charged $75; I gave up. I will just fight the charges with my credit card company… and cancel my monthly membership.
Get better techs!
I have been using them since they first came to New Orleans (out of necessity), but this is the legitimate worse bike sharing app I’ve ever used in my life across the entire United States. I am saving up extra hard to get a car because of these people and their unreliability and poor service and poor customer service. Whenever the bike people replace the batteries they don’t put them in properly. That means in the app, the bike will show as having 100% battery and then when you go through the app to unlock it, you end up pedaling 10 times harder than on a regular bike because the assistive pedaling won’t be activated. Find a way to check these bikes because I have almost been late to works because I thought a bike was there and with 100% battery but in actuality it’s a dud. Also, something must be wrong with their GPS system because whenever I go to where the app says there is a bike, half the time there’s no bike at all. Another issue is how long it takes to unlock and relock. They have the clock running from the moment it unlocks, but these people waste so much of your time in the app that by the time you’ve unlocked and relocked the bike, you’ve wasted 5 minutes that they’re charging you for. Yet another issue is their customer service. Extremely rude and rarely helpful.
