When you’re done riding, simply return the bike to an available dock at any station in the network. The app will show you all station locations, with real-time bike and dock availability, and you can save your favorites for later reference. Tap a station pin or location and the app will show you the best route to get there. Ideal for one-way trips, commutes to work or school, running errands, meeting friends for dinner, going to a game, or just cruising around metro-Boston to see the sights. All trips under 45 minutes are included for members (the app will track your time for you). Take as many rides as you want during the term of your pass. Enjoy the ride!

The switch to QR scans seems like an improvement overall but definitely glad the keys are back too, no phone app can beat that convenience.

*UPDATE 2/4/24 I’ve been very impressed with the addition of EBikes to the Boston area BlueBike supply. Exactly what I’d been hoping for so big applause. Remaining issues are primarily docking-relating. Frequently, a station will have bikes listed as available, but when you go to unlock them, the lock makes a terrible noise and then turns red, indicating they aren’t working. This can also be an issue with parking the bikes in a station with only a few available slots, only to find those slots disfunctional/broken, requiring me to find a different station to park (which can significantly mess up plans when operating on a tight schedule). Once these remaining issues with broken docks are fixed I would be comfortable rating BlueBikes a solid 5/5 for the excellent service you provide. But until then, I’ll upgrade to a 4/5. I use citibikes in nyc all the time and have a wonderful experience using their platform. I can not understand why bluebikes has so many more problems. Bikes frequently won’t unlock, won’t recognize unlock code, will display bikes being at a station when they’re actually unavailable or broken. I know a bike share app can work as evident by citibike. Bluebike can and should do better. I would use all the time if it was reliable. Also please get ebikes, love those in nyc

This is the worst bike sharing service I’ve ever experienced so far. Every other day either the dock station is off-line, or although several bikes are shown as available, the lock mechanism is not working, and it’s also frequently happening that all docks of his station are already fully. And for this bad service it is way too expensive.

My account is active, I have a corporate membership but my account does not show I have a subscription and keeps prompting me to pay for an annual membership, the customer reps have been slow to respond which I can assume is due to the overwhelming complaints they have received. This is harder to use, not user friendly, and highly inefficient. At this point PLEASE get a bike instead, less frustrating then trying to manage blue bike subscription.
