So disappointing.
I’ve had this app and my car for a year and haven’t found it helpful at all. Now that I no longer subscribe ($15/mo, seriously??), the app just freezes and won’t even work for the functions that should still work. It’s incredibly frustrating that after paying $60k for a vehicle they want to charge me a monthly subscription for something that should be included with my vehicle (and should work WAY better than it does!!) Please upgrade this technology, Toyota. And stop trying to skim a little more $ when it makes your customer feel used and frustrated.
More stuff, but less useful.
All I really want is to vehicle status: doors locked? Tire pressure good? Where is it? And why isn’t there an image of my vehicle? I get that it’s not strictly necessary for me, but maybe it would be useful for a borrower. And maybe I like looking at a picture of my cool car. Don’t really need the rest.
So bad
Really shocked at how bad this app is considering how large a company Toyota is. Elements of the app work when they want. Not worth it in my opinion to subscribe to anything cause you’re gambling on whether it works or not. I’m not sure I’ve ever written a review for an app it’s that bad
App charge
It’s very disappointing that you pay all this money for a Highlander and don’t have the option on your key to start the car. This is highly unacceptable. 15.00 a month? As if Toyota doesn’t already have enough money. This is just pure greed. Don’t know if I will be paying for this app or not. I have 10 more days to make a decision.
Doesn’t work right
Every other time I try to start my car it doesn’t work lately. Has never accurately portrayed functions or running time of auto start.
Missed consumer value and poor UI/UX
There’s a lack of consumer value in this app. Overall there’s lack of UX and UI review. Product management needs to review user journeys and use cases for this app. App is not designed with multiple users in mind. Additionally, app lack climate controls presets which is one of the main reasons to use this app. Security concerns: 1. Anyone with car vin number can add a car to this app without any validation 2. Without activation app displays sensitive car information like car mileage Functionality needing improvement: 1. More than 1 driver with full control of the car. Currently adding a driver takes away functionality from the original driver 2. Adding second driver is not intuitive. 3. Climate presets 4. Vehicle health needs to be able to display more telematics data. There’s a ton of information available on CAN bus and you’re pulling barely any 5. Add sound the horn and flash lights functionality.
Shame on you Toyota!
Spending $80k on a new truck only to then be asked by Toyota to pay $15 per month just to keep remote services active. Shame on you and your cheap money grabbing tactics! I will never pay it out of principle. BMW tried the same and got slaughtered by their users. Wife now needs a car and this money-grab tactic has us shopping elsewhere. No thank you!
