Sad

I own Nissan Leaf for almost three years. The app is a lot more frustrating than other aspects of using the car. It does not do one thing, I need it to do - help me manage the charging. It does other things I don’t need as much poorly too. I am not going to pay to use it - the service offers no convenience. 3rd year review. I received an email from Nissan vaguely asking me to pay after third year. It had a link to integrating service with Alexa. I tried and failed to use it before twice and had a morbid curiosity what the email would tell me. Page not found was the answer. It kind of describes the service. About 6 month ago the app started working requiring me to change the password. What’s the point? Review after 2 years: Because the on board charger often trips the gfci safety switch in the wall (about half the times), I cannot be sure the car will charge overnight after a long drive. There are no automatic notifications about charging interruption from the app. If I check manually the app often fails to update. If it does update, I didn’t realize the crucial distinction between charging and plugged in. It took couple of low charge mornings and frustration to learn. If I needed to drive leaf for more than 100 miles a day several days in a row, I would buy and wire a separate wall charger. By code on board charger has to have a wall circuit gfci, which increases the odds of tripping. I rely on third party apps when charging away from home and walking to garage as a more reliable alternative to the Nissan app. I have an app with my Subaru. It works - I like using remote start and onboard diagnostics. Nissan one doesn’t.

Can’t even create a password

Would love to be able to use this app, but your developers have apparently never used a password manager so I can’t use mine. And no matter what I try, I can’t seem to create one that meets the standards.

So convenient

My first connected car. Remote charging level is sweet. Door lock and locator are quite handy. Would like more buttons on home page. Locator is a little clunky. Remembers last weeks location for a long time.

Slowest. App. EVER!

Unreliable!!!! It takes waaaaay too long to sign in and navigate the app. I've never had an app consistently take so long to function. Sometimes it doesn't work even then. I expected more from Nissan.
