App is not responsive to updates, pairing or Bluetooth
I’ve had this app for a while now and every time I try to “update the hardware” for the locks it says “update failed because of Bluetooth connection”. Then I try to connect to Bluetooth and it says that my permissions don’t allow it. I check my permissions and it for sure allows it. This app is trash and need a hard update. The locks themselves are great but the software engineers need to be fired.
It is just a bad product
I have seen so many complaint about the App and I all hear from the developer is that make sure you are close to the lock. I can’t be close to the lock, I want to control it remotely as it is suppose to. Why I don’t share my App? I want all my family to be able to control the lock remotely. Instead of making excuses, just fix the App. Router is about 10 feet away from the lock. Lock is installed properly. Problem are: the lock eats too much battery. Controlling lock/unlock function and time to relock via WiFi is a hit&miss. I have called your support so many times and I have reset it so many times too. It is just a mess and rip-off.
No 2 step
The app does not seem to accept 2 step verification (I have spinning clock for 45 minutes) Also seems unacceptable that only email addresses are those with .com Please advise.
Worst app, worst lock ever
I’ve had this lock for a year now, works ok using the original code I set. My girlfriend on her app adds a code sometimes for others to use when entering the house. Today I went to use mine and it automatically will not connect to Bluetooth. I know it is communicating because it’s as soon as I hit the pairing button it automatically pops up as failed on the app. I tried logging into her app, I tried network resetting the lock, I have tried EVERHTHING. Been sitting here for hours looking like an idiot trying to get my “smart” lock to work. Not to mention the app is slow, clunky, with a terrible interface. It should be such a simple task to connect to the lock. There is something clearly blocking me from connecting since the app is searching then when I hold the pair button on the lock for theee seconds it successfully pops up as unsuccessful. I changed the batteries I’ve tried everything. This is actually a replacement for the first one not working. Terrible.
Very Frustrating
Bluetooth won’t pair. Batteries are new. Updates fail. Troubleshooting guide doesn’t address the problem. Originally lock paired with phone and I could lock/unlock remotely. Now I can’t even add users. Deleting and reinstalling didn’t help, nor did trying to reset from the device. Currently unable to even set up new account.
Feature request
We love the halo touch locks, but wish there was more functionality. For example, we’d like to know our doors are automatically locked when we go to bed at night. A simple schedule to lock the door at a specific time would be ideal. Since the app knows when the door is locked or unlocked, seems this would be easy to implement. Another feature would be to lock the doors when you are away. This could be done by geofencing which would be more universal than alarm integration. How about notifications when the door is unlocked for x amount of time? Note that the myq garage door app can do at least two of these things…notify you when the garage door is open for x amount of time, and auto close the door at a specific time. I would note kwikset could develop the lock further to know when the door is closed, using a magnet and sensor like any alarm can do. It would make auto locking work better…but as others indicated, nobody wants to be locked out during the day. Lastly, sometimes a person gets a new phone. The lock pairing is not seemingly transferring to a new phone and so setting up all the locks from scratch has to be done, including putting fingerprints in these locks. It’s a hassle. Looking forward to improvements. Great job on the app, it is nice
App disappearing after recent update.
I installed the recent update and since then the App disappears when I open it about 3x before it stays open. I am nervous to uninstall the app seeing these other reviews. Are there any suggestions to stop this from happening. I also saw that locks can now be managed but it does not seem like there is a way to order the locks. I use this in an Inn with 10 rooms and would like to order the locks for ease of navigation. Overall am pretty happy with the app and locks just wish the app wouldn’t crash everytime I open it.
