Breather Coach is your Respiratory Muscle Training companion app to the award-winning Breather and Breather Fit devices. Use it to assist you through your daily breathing performance sessions. Breather Coach contains free training plans, helps guide you through your daily Respiratory Muscle Training sessions, and allows you to track your progress. The Breather was the world’s first drug-free evidenced-based Inspiratory/Expiratory Respiratory Muscle Training (RMT) device used by people aged 4 to 94 interested in improving their breathing performance. BENEFITS USING THE BREATHER Strengthens inspiratory & expiratory muscles independently Promotes diaphragmatic breathing Decreases shortness of breath Improves respiratory support for safe swallow function Promotes protective cough and assists in airway clearance Breather Fit is the high-performance model used by Olympians, Pro Athletes, Special Operators in the armed forces, CrossFitters, Triathletes, Runners, and aspiring Athletes. BENEFITS USING BREATHER FIT Decreases 2 miles run time on avg by 21 sec Delay fatigue carrying a 55lb load Improve cardio performance Reduce post-exercise lactate Reduce sleep disturbances “This little piece of equipment will give you an edge. Go look up `Breather Fit` on Amazon or go straight to their website. Get the last tool you've been needing to get that edge!” Chris Moyer, “Dutch” Special Forces Army Ranger `The Breather is one of the most important elements of my daily self-care and has made it so easy for me to stay independent with airway clearance each day and when I travel.``Xan Nowakowski, PhD, MPH CF Patient, and Professor.
App
The app is hard to use and frustrating if you miss a training session. It will not pick up where you left off sometimes and want you to start over.
Hate the App, love the tool
I hate that I cannot just do the breathing exercise according to my schedule and that I’m forced to watch the video when I’ve been using this for well over a year. There should be an option for me to do the exercise when I choose and if I don’t want a rest day then that’s my choice.
Don’t bother
It logged me out and lost my progress. Deleted it.
Better options
I rarely review apps, but this one is bad. It fails at its most basic function - providing a breathing timer. I had to pick a training plan, but of course the day the plan is started is an ‘off’ day so I can’t do the standard exercises (changing the default day off in settings and then changing plans does not avoid this). I figured there are better options out there - would recommend checking out iBreathe. It has customizable intervals and a watch app
How about investing a little in your app
The app is poorly designed and essentially useless The older version was easier to navigate through, get rid of all the pathetic videos and focus on layout
Needs development
I think this technology is really neat but has not been fully realized either by the device or the app. After I used a different device, the Lumen, which measures CO2 to measure metabolism, I was curious about breathing biofeedback devices. The Lumen device requires you to breath with a certain amount of force and for a certain amount of time in order to work, and has a visual display on the app that shows if you are succeeding. That’s what I was hoping for with the Breather, but the Breather is only mechanical and does not have the sensor capabilities to provide biofeedback. As for the app itself, I find it does not give the information or guidance in formats I want. Videos do not work well for me for many reasons, and I’ve found the information to be limited. Without real-time biofeedback from the device, questions remain about the correct technique, theory and practice. I think this technology is incredibly cool but this iteration falls short of where I hope to eventually see this evolve.
Voice? Really?
I am troubled that the support team doesn’t seem to understand even a little bit about how singers breathe to sing. They also seem to have odd notions about the power required to inhale and exhale as a singer and/or through the device. I recommend more for general respiratory issues than for the voice. Straws work just fine.
