The RightTrack® app is currently only available in select states. If you are interested in participating in Safeco RightTrack, contact your local independent Safeco Agent for more information. If you have already enrolled, simply download the app, register, and start driving your way to a lower premium. Get rewarded for your safe driving with RightTrack, the program that puts you in control of your auto policy savings. You’ll get guaranteed savings just for participating and could save up to $513* on your auto insurance premium once you complete the program. It’s easy. Just download, drive, and save. Over the 90-day review period, the RightTrack app automatically records your trips and will evaluate four key safe driving habits (acceleration, braking, miles driven and nighttime driving) to determine your savings. Within the app, you’ll be able to see your projected policy savings, a summary of your performance, and details for each trip. *Projected savings based on the average premiums and vehicle participation rates of customers who completed the Safeco RightTrack plug-in program from October 2015 through June 2018.
Somewhat misleading in their discount
I received my initial 10 percent discount before finishing the app. After I completed it they do not tell you a percentage and only the dollar amount. My second amount was lower than my first. With that said, I drove perfectly with no dings. I went from a score of 100 to 96 and up to 97. I don’t drive a lot but it did seem that driving more miles reduces your score as I drove 300 miles for Thanksgiving and then back 300 and that is when my score dropped two points. I don’t understand how my percentage is lower for a discount than 10 percent when I had no dings. I’m glad to have the discount though I don’t believe it’s an honest one. I can only wonder if I had dings that it might not have been worth the effort!
Waste of Time
Let me start by saying do you really think they are trying to save YOU money? Not hardly my friend, not by a long shot. It takes far longer to gain money than it does to lose it. And any thing you do wrong costs you so much more than the many, many things you do right. If I had to guess bad drives cost you $10-15, excellent drives gain u 50 cents to a dollar. Do, I agree with previous reviews, it is not very accurate. Example, wife works in healthcare and occasionally works til or past MN, so she completes her drive and has no hard breaking or rapid acceleration, but gets dinged for driving after MN (part of her job remember) and our savings drops 15$ or so for that ??? Again, your positives can never possibly outweigh any perceived negatives, to which I believe it poorly interprets. Another example, TODAY, I was given 2 hard breaking “demerits”, at work pulling into my parking space, literally…. It has also given me rapid acceleration in a parking lot where I don’t exceed 10 mph (federal building, police monitor speed daily). Take home message here…. My family of 4 has worked hard on this and we had it up to well over $700, only to see in the last 30 days prior to the end of the 90 day period it drop like a rock, and often for things imperceptible to us. Sign up, it’ll save u 10% and unless you drive like a stock car driver you’ll earn that pretty easily; don’t believe the con that your going to save much more.
App is a scam!
Most of my trips are rated excellent… however my hard braking overall score has been fair since the first week I installed the app. One hard braking or fast acceleration rates your trip as fair…? Seriously?!? What if you are merging into traffic from a dead stop on the entrance ramp??? What about good? One event drops you to fair? Why have the category of good then? I totally think this app is about screwing your for a discount and Safeco reaping financial benefits from data info mined from the app for the Safeco!!! I say car insurance companies need to focus on driving records and get out of invading privacy with these apps and needing to know our credit reports… I say invasion of privacy … perhaps the FTC needs to have a number of complaints from insurance customers?!?👍😬

Not accurate at all
Basically I cannot make a full stop at stop sign, this app always report it as hard break?! I am traveling at 25 miles per hour or less, and gradually slow down toward stop sign, it reported it as hard stop?! It is a traffic violation if we don’t make full stop at stop sign!
Distracted driving
Do not understand how it shows distracted driving because of rain or being parked and listening to the radio and being on my phone without my vehicle running! Just turned over to listen to the radio waiting on someone and it kicks over as distracted???
Live in a big city? Good luck!
This app is absolutely horrendous and not only always tracks my location and drains my phones battery quickly but also punishes safe driving. Need to break hard because someone just cut you off on the highway and they’re going slower than you? Aww, sorry, you just lost $50 in savings for being an “aggressive braker.” Same exact thing if traffic comes to a raging stop, and I’m a VERY defensive driver and never tail people. Coming up on a short highway on ramp and need to accelerate reasonably quickly to not get rear ended? Sorry, too bad, you just lost $70 in savings for getting on the gas “too hard.” My car has 200 hp… 200!!! It takes my car 8 seconds flat to get to 60mph using full throttle so why WOULD I get penalized for using 50%-70% of my throttle SAFELY. Taking 10+ seconds to get to 60mph is NOT DANGEROUS DRIVING.
