Get an extra layer of security for ANZ Internet Banking with the ANZ Shield app. ANZ Shield is an authentication app that helps you by generating one-time passcodes, known as a Shield Code. It helps us confirm that the requests being made for your accounts are genuine. If you’re using ANZ Internet Banking, you’ll need the ANZ Shield app to authenticate certain payments and activities. Locked my account but works
The app hasn’t been updated in 3 years at the time of this review... Also, it may lock your account towards the end of the registration process under certain conditions (such as if you had tried to transfer money recently). When that happens, you are forced to call the helpline but in my case it took nearly 1h of wait to get through to someone! Once setup, the app works but a 25k transfer limit is inappropriate these days so you have to do multiple transfers for larger sums. What is wrong with this bank?
Fix your APP
Every damn time I need to make multiple payments I have to shut down your app for a new code to come up. Then most times it takes 5 or 6 tries for the code to change. Terrible App. Should be linked so that when a payment has been authorised a new code is automatically generated without the need to close the App.

I hope you like being given the same code over and over again. Maybe sacking more employees for your share holders will fix it?? Big banks are pointless. Ditch them.
Useless
I can add payees to my list and send them money without ever being required to use this so called shield. In fact I’ve never been required to use it. ANZ has no security at all, not even two factor authentication. Online bookstores are more secure than the place where all my money is stored. I’m changing banks.
Completely useless
Tried downloading the app onto my iPad and it sent a verification code to my phone which didn’t arrive. Logged onto my ANZ profile on their internet banking app and received verification code straight away. Confirmed my mobile number was correct and tried loading ANZ Shield again. Same problem - no verification code received, then the app blocked my number! Suggest ANZ spend some of its massive profits and hire a few competent programmers.
Deregistering!
Hopeless - I seem to just be stuck on ‘Have a synch cod / get a synch code’ page - there are no instructions that work - it actually is annissue, I cant send money from my online banking because I cant get a code to aithorize it. Rubbish app.
Sync Code Failure at Setup
2024 - with so many working awesome MFA tools and ANZ forces this into production. Shame on you. Just setting up the sync - 2 hours. Goodness knows how many attempts and still no luck. A Business App - Clearly built by the lowest bidding developer - and a tool that is critical to a customers security. 2 hours of my time is not valued by you!? Lift your game. We know you have the money.
