IMPROVE APP
This is the most ridiculous app. The whole direction of 1,2,3 easy steps is a joke. As oppose to me being able to download the documents from my phone and uploading it because the documents were sent to me electronically. Now I have to go to the library, print out the documents and then take photos of it just to upload. Straight up waste of time. Please improve this app.
This App Sets Us Back 20 Years
When submitting personal documents digitally: the most efficient format today is PDF. Normally we save our documents in an album (as a photo) or a folder (as a PDF file) on our devices. When needed, an app like this one would allow you to upload these documents effortlessly by accessing the already digital formats — without the need to have them on paper. BUT NO, NOT THIS APP… NYDocSubmit ONLY allows the user to take an actual photo (assuming one has a smartphone or tablet) of a document that can only be on paper — to be able to obtain a clear enough image that renders the result readable. Those users who only have a computer are out of luck. They would have to make a trip to the DSS office just to submit paperwork. But wait a minute: Nowadays most bank statements and utility bills are being pushed and sent digitally. Even your rent statements come in a digital format. So why NYS and the NYDocSubmit app wants to force us to go back to primitive ways to actually PRINT OUT PAPERS — to then take a picture of — that will then be converted back to a digital format anyways. That is clearly making people work double: wasting more energy and trees. The other option that DSS currently lacks is enabling UPLOADS online through the use of a browser. This is the best approach. The person or team who thought out and designed this app clearly failed to do a thorough research, and apparently launched it in a hurry from an empty template. You would think these government officials would hire smart and practical people. Being a tech myself, I could most likely do a better job at it. We already have 95% of our personal documents in DIGITAL FORMAT. Why not simply access our devices (including our computers) and allow us a simple UPLOAD feature ??. It’s the most direct, simple, efficient, and obvious option when submitting documentation. Every other major service does it through both: an app and online. Even the app ratings on the App Store are fake, because no matter how many 1-Stars the app receives, the ratings stay at 4.8 out of 5 making it look like an outstanding app when it really isn’t; and the App Store doesn’t display all the bad ratings the users write. So, kindly update the app and stop wasting our tax dollars on JUNK technologies.

It’s not hard to do.
App
App is pretty easy to use just don’t like that you can’t upload your documents you can only take pictures. Other than that pretty simple
1 Negative
If you could log out of one account for another, that would be ideal. There are many NYS logins, at least for me… I messed up what one I logged into and had to use a different device because I couldn’t log out. I tried to close out and go back in, and I even tried to delete the app and redownload it. No luck. Everything else has seemed to be pretty easy and I’m actually surprised lol
Adding documents
It would be nice to upload a pdf file instead of just taking pictures.
In addition to English, Spanish, Arabic, Bengali, Chinese (Traditional), Korean, Russian, Haitian Creole, Yiddish, Italian and Polish this App is now available in French and Urdu.
