Disconnects every two days
What a bad app. Disconnects every two days and I have to go and unplug and plug it for it to make it work. Extremely poor experience using this. Should improve the reliability of your devices and services by a vast amount. It doesn’t build customer trust.

The app and the features that are supposed to be available don’t work. Whoever is responsible for for their app dev apparently left 2 years ago. No updates and now it is completely unusable. “Control failed” is the only thing it says, no matter what I try to do. When this water heater needs to be replaced, I won’t be buying a Rinnai.

After an hour trying to get this to connect I’m giving up. Each time is a different failure. I got the lights to blink green and blue and the app to recognize it only to click continue and have the app immediately crash. How this is even a real product makes no sense.

Multiple attempts. Gets to last step, light is solid blue and the app crashes. Rinnai is aware of this and yet it’s not working. After contacting Rinnai they fixed it over the phone. Contacted Rinnai, they said “ That means you have a false pending. I can fix that for you. What is the serial number on the back of the black box, and you email used to create the account?”

So glad I upgraded to the Control-R. I had a RUR199e previously connected with the MC-195T-US and that setup worked well just as long as the power didn’t go out. Having to reprogram it after each power outage was annoying so I looked into the control-r. The bad reviews are exaggerated and mostly unfounded. The only negative thing is a missed pairing step to call technical support to complete the network pairing. The company should amend the setup instructions to add that step when appropriate. Otherwise this device/application is great. More control and more reliability for your tankless water heater.

The wireless module doesn’t work. I tried everything to get everything to connect. Step by step. In the end it connected to my phone but not the app. So I took it off and got a rinnai hard wired module that I know will work. The wireless would be great if it worked. I have 18 devices connected to my network 8 are wireless and I have no problem with any of my devices. I would be really, really impressed if the wireless actually worked. Very disappointed with the wireless.
