The BEST JOB EVER!
I have been doing this Job for a year now while I’m in college and it’s the best job I’ve had. I LOVE working with my Seniors. They are my family. I have grown to Love each and every one of them and they request me as their Favorite pal!! It’s so hard to leave these Parents and Grandparents when it’s time to go or time to hang up the phone! And the hardest part is not being able to give them physical visits because of COVID. My Seniors hardly have family to help them and I’m all they have, they depend on me and because of the Pandemic I can’t go see them! However, outside of work I still call and talk to them. This job is bigger than money to me, they need us! And I can’t turn my back on ANYONE in need. Whether is grocery shopping or just a conversation! On Christmas Day I spent Christmas calling my Seniors to make sure they heard the words “Merry Christmas”, and one of my Seniors broke down crying tears of joy because I was the only one who thought of her! And that’s why I love this job. I’m changing lives one Senior at a time!!
Good so far.
I just got started as a Papa Pal doing virtual visits. I haven't taken any calls yet but I have some recommendations for the app. If we could filter the "All" section (the one that differentiates between days, not types of visits) to allow us to only see visits we can take according to our availability rather than having to scroll through days of listed visits, that'd be great. It's really frustrating because even after scrolling so far down, as soon as I click on a visit, when I go back to the list of visits to take, it scrolls right back up to the top. It's really annoying trying to schedule myself ahead of time like this. Other than that, everything seems to be functioning properly. I accepted a few calls but nobody has picked up yet. We'll see how this goes but these features would be greatly appreciated.
App is poorly designed
Overall I’m enjoying the experience but there’s a couple things I would suggest. The mileage is way off! meaning the app tells me the member is 10 miles away, but he’s really 20 miles away; add that to a round trip. Another thing (and this is the most annoying) is when looking at the blocks available, you have to scroll all the way again and again. If you want to check a member for a later time, the app automatically goes back to the beginning of the day. I really wish they could fix that, it is a big waste of time.
Very basic and mundane
I’ve never used an app that is so basic that you have to scroll through lists countless times to set a couple of appointments. It is constantly crashing and shuts down while trying to use. You have to scroll through the entire list of patients/papa-seniors/customers to get an appointment set up. Please get a app strategist on the team and get the app functionality figured out. I am shocked this is considered acceptable.
The UI needs a huge overhaul
The endless scrolling that sometimes pulls your right back to the top is beyond frustrating. I shouldn’t have to waste valuable time spending forever trying to book visits. The app experience is pretty janky and could definitely be better. I love being a pal, but the slow app makes that hard sometimes.
