Regarding free cookie
I have a free cookie from La Madeleine's app show. When I went to the store to ask for redemption, the staff pressed the wrong key caused a group of redemption numbers to disappear. Fortunately, I memorized the sets of numbers within two seconds and successfully got my free cookie. What I want to say is, for an old customer, you are so irresponsible that the old customer almost loses this small benefit, and you may lose an old customer. Is it worth it?
Terrible user interface
The new La Madeleine rewards app (March 2024) is a huge leap backwards. The old rewards system and app with its one-step payment via barcode scan was quick and easy. Redeeming rewards was automatic. There was no need to present a credit card. We could pass through the order counter in seconds. The old system made La Madeleine’s the best working app of any restaurant chain. By contrast, the new app has added more steps, made the point-of-purchase more tedious and taken away customer convenience. Instead of scanning the bar code to access a stored credit card, you must physically present the card at the counter. To redeem a reward, you must open the app, select the item, receive a code and present the number to the cashier, who must enter the number manually into the computer register. To log your purchases to receive credit, you physically scan your paper receipt at the table. More steps. More time spent. Less convenience. This new user interface has changed La Madeleine’s app from being among the best to being among the worst. May 2, 2024 Update I appreciate the invitation to update my review because I’ve had additional weeks’ experience using the app, and my initial impression has been thoroughly confirmed. The old app worked beautifully and conveniently, giving customers a one-step process to pay and redeem rewards by scanning a code. The new app requires separate payment by credit card and reward redeeming using the app; the customer has request a number sequence to claim the reward, and the cashier has to enter the number manually. More effort for the customer. More effort for the employee. More time to transact a purchase. This app is a bone-headed degradation of service.

New App is absolute garbage. Can’t redeem rewards.
As usual, and upgrade results in a horrible, unusable app when the previous one worked fine. I have to log in with my email each time I want to use it, and then check my email for a link to log in, which doesn’t work half the time. How do check in or redeem rewards is anyone’s guess. Just horrible.

What was management thinkingu? The old app did it all! The new app has You using the app to order and swipe for royalty rewards and then another credit Card to pay. Too clumsy.
