Terrible customer service
It has been terrible dealing with Curve customer service. They clearly just don’t care about their free tier users. I was never notified that Curve started implementing international usage fees. I’m fine with these fees - I just won’t use my card abroad. But isn't it illegal to make that change and not notify your users? I only noticed after I made a large payment and the cost did not match what I thought I saw on the receipt. Customer service also ignores my emails.
Why is there a US waitlist?
I decided to download the app because I’m told my upcoming Ring One will work with Curve, only to find you can’t sign up right now…not one place explains what the situation is, just that they want my email to let me know when the US comeback tour has begun. Like what does this even mean? Are you currently not usable in the US due to legal issues, or your network can’t handle any additional people right now?! Information is key in todays world…share it!
Worst service. Closed account 4 but credit history hit with payment due
Worst app and customer service I’ve ever seen. No phone number. Only email support. Never opened a curve credit card but ended up getting on after registering on app. Contacted support to close the credit card. Email support took over a month to cancel the card but the credit history on Equifax was showing a missed payment for 5 months. They claim that a charge to my card was routed to curve credit card on the same day the account was closed and accrued interest for 6 months. Nobody contacted me via email or postal mail asking to pay this off. I found it on my credit report when a lender denied my loan citing a missed payment for 6 months. If I didn’t contact them, I’d be dead and they’d be charging interest for 100 years without contacting the customer. They’re Scammers. Beware.
SO MANY ISSUES!
I’m keeping my account for now, however they have SO many issues with international and internet transactions. The card, virtual or physical, is unpredictable with regard to what transactions are going through or are declined. Curve has left me in limbo a number of times already (and more than just a mere inconvenience, but they didn’t care), and the company has also shut of my card with little to no explanation. After opening my account, linking other accounts, and receiving my physical card, they suddenly shut off my card and declined transactions while traveling and wouldn’t provide an complete explanation but sent a link for an external company (Onfio) and demanded that my passport be uploaded to it. Even after doing so my account remained locked for about 48 hours and they refused to provide any detailed explanation. They said that they needed the information to open my account (but it was already open). They ultimately unlocked my account abruptly with no explanation other than to say I could start spending again and shut off the chat string so I couldn’t reply. Since then, I’ve still had difficulty and declines. Their chat reps are super slow to respond, to the point that their responses aren’t relevant any longer. They send transactions receipts, but they come days after the actual transaction. They just say that complaints and criticisms are being forwarded to some unknown point within their organization for future improvement. This organization needs a lot of improvement in light of what they promise and offer.
No response from CS
I’ve sent few questions to Customer Support chat more than a week ago and got 0 response from Curve team. I can’t rely on a financial service works like that.
