The Citi Bike app gives you access to thousands of bikes in your area — unlock and pay directly from the app and get going.
The Citi Bike app also shows upcoming public transit departures, including MTA subway trains, shuttles, local, limited, & express buses, LIRR commuter rail trains, Metro-North commuter rail trains, PATH rapid transit trains, Bee-Line local & express buses, NYC Ferries, the Staten Island Ferry, the AirTrain JFK, the AirTrain Newark, the Roosevelt Island Tramway, and NJT commuter rail trains, light rail trains, & buses.

app works pretty well- only issue is sometimes the amount of 'available' bikes is inaccurate. you'll walk up and find 5 out of 6 are out of order but it won't show that on the app
Buggy on Android. Simple task which work better on the fruit OS are sluggish here. Works well enough to scan a bike but not much more. Do better for Android!

"THIS WAS OUR FIRST TIME DOWNLOADING AND USING THE CITYBIKE APP AND WE HAD ISSUES WITH APP NOT ALLOWING TO RENT A BIKE DUE TO BIRTHDATE ISSUE, WE HAD TO PROVIDE ID, (WHICH WE HOPE IT IS SAFE AGAINST IDENTITY THEFT), WE HAD TO ASK FOR HELP TO GET MULTIPLE BIKES, WE WERE TOLD DURING A LONG TIME ON THE CHAT THAT THE "CARFREE24" WAS ONLY FOR 1 PERSON ON 1 APP, 30MN. MEANWHILE MY BIKE WAS ALREADY OUT, NOT USED, AND THEY MADE US PAY EXTRA WHILE WE WERE ON THE CHAT WAITING TO BE HELPED FOR GROUP RIDING
