The app works great. The overall service is about 4 stars. I love riding as bike around town without needing to keep track of my own bike. Sometimes the bikes are not in great shape, but I can usually always find one that is pretty good.
Excellent way to get around the city! So far there was at least 2 - 3 bikes available for riding at all the bike stands that I have been too. I recommend BayWheels to tourist as well as residents of SF, it's a win-win situation; both for the environment and the riders...

Bike Angel's points dissapear once you undock a bike. Ensure points remain visible during the bike ride.
I'm at a docking station attempting to use the app for the first time. Of course, I'm already signed in and it shows my profile picture. I scan the QR code to unlock the bike and what happens next? The app asks me for my birthdate. And, the only option I have is to scroll through the months. Not set the year, then the day and then the month. No, I'm expected to scroll through hundreds of months in order to get to my birthdate. There is no way to set this date before hand, say in Settings
Even renting a car would be cheaper than this! Highly Non recommended! Renting an ebike for 2h to drive 10miles cost 50$ this is absolutely way too much.
