OtO is the best way to get a perfect yard! The OtO Lawn Companion App is required to set up your OtO devices on your property and calibrate them to your watering zones.
App is buggy, not intuitive, and just freezes.
Very frustrated here that I’ve purchased this sprinkler and can’t get it to work. It does not seem ready for customers.
Inefficient but it works.
Developers, please - make it possible to view all zones under 1 tab. I have 3 OtOs and it’s very inefficient to have to click on each OtO to find the zone I want. -make it possible to view watering history per zone -improve location. It has a completely different location than where I am with totally different weather and I can’t fix it. -make “My yard” where we can view all zones on one map. Ideally this would be overlaid with GPS imagine that we can crop as an underwater.
Device settings less than desired
Our Oto rarely looks at the weather and does not water the lawn. It’s even been sprinkling and the Oto turns on. There’s no easy way to turn off the watering when this is happening. The intensity of spray also leaves trenches and holes in both the flower beds and even the lawn. We had sod put in but there are 2 holes that were dug over the summer of use, where the stream of water initiated to the corner of the zone. There’s no “sprinkler” head, just an open hose
Device is awesome, app not so much
I’m getting pretty frustrated with the app because when I try to edit a zone there is about a 1 minute lag time from when I click any button to when the app responds. Makes it impossible to edit a zone!
Good product, bare bones app
The product is a great addition to the watering capabilities. It’s basically someone standing with a hose and pointing it around your yard, but programmed. That said, it is very basic compared to most watering systems. You can only water once a day, which is … strange. There is no history or water usage details. You can’t check and see if your stuff got watered. The manual watering is problematic. It’s seems like, to save battery, the system only check in every 5 minutes. That’s fine. But, I’ve plugged mine in, and that doesn’t seem to change anything. More importantly, the UX doesn’t provide any useful feedback. I want my dad to get one, but I can’t do a problem free demo. The app, at a minimum, needs history and more details on the manual watering. It needs to say when it has registered with the cloud, and when it is waiting on the base station. The spinning thing often takes more than 5 minutes to work. Today, I went out and pressed the button (which isn’t even a button) and it still never came on…. Or maybe it did, but didn’t say anything. No history, so I don’t know.
Great app and device
I've had 2 devices for about a month now and love it. The app is easy to use and well designed. The only feature I would request is the ability to water the same zone twice in one day without having to redraw it. Either giving the option to clone a zone or let me schedule multiple daily waterings on the same zone. When we have a week of 110 degree days I like to water once in the morning and once in the evening. Thanks for the great device!
Great device and app
Got mine a few days ago. Super easy to set-up and the app looks nice. Saves a ton of time. Looking forward to more features. Couple of things that would be great: - Allow to water same zone multiple times a day - Overlay satellite image from a maps provider - Hardware: Option for different stream/spraying pattern - for newly seeded grass the stream is too hard - would be nice if it could be spread out a bit like sprinklers.
Minor bug fixes and improvements.
