Control your HomeKit devices from your menu bar—that's quick and easy. You can even setup global Keyboard shortcuts or automation triggers that enable different scenes automatically. For example, I have assigned my F5 and F6 keys to dedicated scenes…very handy to handle your HomeKit devices from your keyboard, while you‘re working at your computer anyway. And of course you can assign all kinds of shortcuts to any scene, such as ⌘⇧N for “Good Night”. On my desk, waking up my Mac enables my working light scene…while bringing the computer to sleep turns it off again. That‘s basically it – a quick & simple app. Homie makes use of the new HomeKit framework for Catalyst Apps in macOS 11 Big Sur – that's why macOS Big Sur is required in order to use Homie. Available Subscription Option (annually): Homie Pro Subscription to get access to all Pro Features: - Add favorite scenes, so they can be reached with one click in the app. - Pin sensors to your menu bar, so you can see them with one glance. - Add global keyboard shortcuts, so you can control your scenes super-fast. - Add automation triggers for your scenes (e.g. unlocking your computer turns on a specific scene). No longer functions
App in general has lost it's funtionality.
Stopped Working on Ventura 13.0
Just like the title says. Used to work great, but stopped once I upgraded to the beta. The app itself doesn't even open anymore.
pleasant enough
This app has grown over the years and I'm happy to say it still works. I'm still waiting for the ability to put icons instead of the word "Office" or "Hue color downlight" in my menu bar. Thanks for adding a way to dim the lights and change their colors! Currently, all my Hue Color Downlights are called just that. I have painstakenly named all of them in Home Kit so I know which bulb is which, but in this app it's trial and error. 9 bulbs in the office, I have to do trial and error to figure out which one is the one I'm trying to manipulate. Which is why I put the one bulb in the menu bar, and that's why my menubar says "Hue color downlight". Other than that, I really do like this app. It comes in very handy.
UI is dated.
Functionally, this app is great. I've used it on and off for years now I think. However, I'd always wondered when it would get a UI update or something because I thought the drop-down menus-within-menus would've just been a placeholder. I like to keep my menubar minimal and organized and I was hoping the main Homie menubar tool could take some cues from the no-longer-new control center interface. I'm aware of the "favorites" list but this app would be amazing if it could navigating like any other apple interface. Are the developers interested in ever updating it or are the cumbersome menus-within-menus a definitive mainstay because it would otherwise be slowed down or something?
A necessity for any HomeKit user
A perfect compliment to the homekit app. While the free version is still quite usefull being able to quickly navigate to devices from the menu bar, the real utility comes from premium. Being able to stick individual items it my menu bar for quick access, such as my office lights or window air conditioner, is perfect for quick actions where I don't want to invoke Siri and hope I'm not going to get stuck in a frustrating conversation with another braindead "personal assistant".
homie
does not work
Fixes a bug where the "Lifetime Unlock" button was not clickable in the German version of the app.
