Bad Data Roaming & Subscription
This plan is both good and affordable for use in Singapore. However, one major drawback is that I cannot resubscribe to a cheaper promotional plan. Additionally, I would recommend others to purchase an overseas SIM card for data usage instead of relying on the gigaRoam plan. When I used it in Hanoi, I experienced frequent disconnections, with approximately 90% of the time being disconnected.
Too Many Bugs, Inconsistent Even When in SG
Giga advertised cheap roaming in ASEAN to attract subscribers then seems to have focused entirely on SG operations. When traveling to Indonesia, I sometimes cannot even open the app—it just states “loading.” In Malaysia, my pre-bought roaming package did not activate. The app is suitable in SG, but even in SG, speeds can vary significantly. I am giving a low rating because customer service has responded to me using pre-formed, copy-and-paste messages that do not not indicate an ability to identify their issues. (July 2023)

Completely Unprofessional Service
Probably the worst experience I’ve ever had. I was told that my SIM card would be delivered once the driver has called me within a specific timeframe and sees a form of ID to verify my identity. Not only did the driver not call at all, but he just handed it off to someone who happened to live in the same gilding as me without any verification. When I received notification that it arrived, I had no idea where it went. I spent almost two hours waiting for customer support to address it. The driver then called my American number instead of the local one I provided to avoid international call charges. This change was done earlier that day (which another 2 hours because the app wouldn’t let me do it myself) and was assured by the agent yet clearly it did not work. Luckily I was able to find my package, but I’m horrified that the driver just gave it away to someone else. giga! also never apologized or even acknowledged the whole ordeal. Once I let them know I had the SIM card, there was absolutely no response. The entire exchange was done through Instagram DMs so I can see that my messages were seen and just ignored. I’m appalled and shocked by the unprofessionalism that giga! exhibited.
Horrible Experience Where Driver Gave My SIM Card to a Stranger
Probably the worst experience I have had in my life. SIM cards are delivered when the driver calls upon arrival and is shown a form of identification to ensure it’s the right person. The driver chose to not call at all, but instead give my package to someone else entirely because they live in the same building as me without asking for any identification. I had to wait for giga! to respond all day because I received notification of its delivery but had no idea where it went. On top of that, the driver ended up calling my American number instead of the local one I provided to avoid international call fees and I had no choice but to pick it up because no one else seemed to know where it went. Luckily I was able to find my SIM card, but the whole ordeal could have been avoided if the delivery process actually happened the way that it was promised. I understand that it’s an external delivery team; however, drivers should not be handing out packages just to any person when they are specifically meant to see identification first. At the end of everything giga! never even apologized or acknowledged how frustrating the entire was as well as how it wasn’t supposed to happen. Very frustrated and disappointed since I had such high hope after signing up just yesterday.

Good value for money!
The GIGA package is hard to beat! It runs on StarHub networks so robust and comprehensive. The only thing missing is VOLTE. Hopefully this will be an added benefit in the near future!
