Horrible customer support
Tried to verify my account for 3 days and kept getting different responses until they gave up and deleted my account while I’m waiting for an answer…
Dreadful Registration Process
I’ve tried numerous times to upload photos of documents and have been told every excuse from “photos blurry” to “licence invalid”. Why make the registration process such a nightmare. Maybe it would help if humans were verifying documents as the computer constantly says no!
Discrimination
Your company is discriminatory and a joke. I can’t drive a scooter because I don’t have an International license, but yesterday I witnessed multiple people, having drank all day at Les Halles de Bacalan get on scooters and drive away. Rubbish. If I could give negative stars I would. Watch out for the turquoise scooters in Bordeaux so many people are intoxicated on them.
Can’t accept documents no matter what.
I have tried to submit my documents to set up a Yego account at least 20 times in the past 4 months with no success. The app would tell me my DL was blurry when it definitely wasn’t. I wanted to contact support but there was no option. I couldn’t log out and back in either. I was so excited to start using these mopeds when I moved to France so this has been so disappointing.
Useless if You’re from the US
It doesn’t tell you until after you upload your documents that you need an entirely separate IDP that you would have had to apply for weeks before, even though they have below 50cc scooters that don’t legally require a license.
Bad experience to non-EU residents
If you don’t have a EU driving license you cannot rent Yego scooters. Yego will not let you create an account. I have a US driving license that they denied. For all non-EU residents, if you don’t go out of your way to apply in advance for an international driving license (which could take weeks) then you won’t be able to rent Yego scooters. I’ve never had this problem before with competitors.
Worst Experience and Service
I had rented a scooter, shortly before arriving at my desired destination I was stopped by the Guardia Municipal who obligated me to park in an area that is not appropriate for suspecting that I had drank (it was 3am). When they made the tests I showed up negative because I had not drunk at all. I thought that everything would end there but no. They have proceeded to change their story to say that I did not have a valid permit to drive due to my license not being from the European Union or in a convention. They have fined me for 500€ to then let me go walking. If you think my story ends there it does not. Yego then has charged me for 80€ extra because they have had to pay for the moto that was removed. Now it seems I will have to pay a second fine although it really has not been my fault. The ride was barely 7 euros and was nice and fun but what has unfolded afterwards has been a disaster Take the metro or another means of transportation where you will not have to deal with entrapment, fraud and scams.
