We started Empower to help drivers who can’t make a sustainable living under the current rideshare model and to facilitate an alternative for passengers who want the convenience provided by on-demand transportation platforms, but prefer to support companies that have high ethical standards and treat all people with respect. Through our P2P SaaS, Empower is achieving these goals and enabling passengers to obtain less expensive and more customized transportation directly from drivers.
Horrible horrible
The worst customer service ever..so good and extremely quick in taking money but when it comes to issues never reply u back..i emailed them for a wrong tip was done with outrageous amount of money and i emailed and emailed and emailed but never answered me back and still charge me the tip i never approved!!Horrible
“Account locked” immediately after signup
Went through the phone verification, entered my info- tried to get a ride, it says my account’s locked. Doesn’t say why. Not a good start. Deleted.
Disgruntled
I have sent so emails to finger out why my account is locked and I’m never even received so much as a we’ve received your email.
Decent service with many issues
I like the concept but the app and service continues to have many glitches. 1. Arrival times are almost never what is estimated. They might estimate 5 minutes, but once a ride is confirmed it says 9 minutes, and the drive arrives at 12 minutes. This is frustrating when you’re in a time crunch. 2. Frequently, though not always, the charges turn out to be higher than estimated once a driver is assigned. For example, $16 instead of $13. Though it never goes lower than the estimate. Once it quoted $12 but it was changed to $35 once a driver was assigned and I did not catch the difference until I was already in the car. 3. Little enforcement over the car or drivers. I’ve had many situations where a driver with a completely different car and license plate shows up. Also, Empower cars tend to be in worse shape than Lyft or Uber. It’s not unusual to see a selection of yellow and red dashboard lights permanently on, or a suspension begging for some maintenance. 4. The gps function of the app has unresolved glitches. The driver’s location doesn’t always update in real time. For example, the app sometimes freezes and says the driver is 4 minutes away when the driver has already arrived.
Drivers are unreliable
Last night I requested a cab and the guy was 11 mins away 11 mins later cab was 17 mins away driving in circles. I call the cab and he tell me has another job and he doesn’t want to take this one that I should cancel and I told him to cancel which he finally did after arguing. I had to request another one which two more drivers canceled back to back. Finally I got one driver to pick me up. 40 mins wasted I reported all this to the agency all I got was sorry we will not pair with this driver anymore. I requested some type of discount or anything and they stoped replying . This is the 2nd time they have done this. I’ll give them one more chance. Three strikes and will no longer use them and will be letting everyone know about this taxi service
Cancelled rides by drivers, and cancel fees.
Edit: tried it again, redownloaded and called a ride. And AGAIN the driver was just moseying along in the wrong direction. I called twice, no answer, and texted requesting he cancel. Nothing. I had to cancel, and got charged. Don’t download this app. Too many drivers canceling, and in some cases accepting but driving away. First driver canceled on me after accepting the ride and driving away, second driver accepted then canceled after I called when it looked like they were driving away. Then I canceled the ride, or so I thought. Then I get a notification about ten minutes later that a driver is on the way (but he’s pretty far away), and I’m already in an Uber. I cancel the ride, and I get charged like $4 or something. And there have been a few similar experiences in the past. I’m over it. Sounds like they need to pay their drivers more.
