Knowing land border wait times at the various ports of entry into the United States from both Canada and Mexico can aid the traveler in making an informed decision on when and where to cross the border. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection's Border Wait Time (BWT) app provides estimated wait times and open lane status 24/7 at ports of entry that process commercial vehicles, passenger vehicles, and pedestrians. The BWT app breaks down wait times at each crossing by lane type (Standard, Sentri, FAST, Ready Lane, Nexus, etc.). The BWT app is a free service provided by the Department of Homeland Security/U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
App needs an update
The times a crossing are open are not up-to-date for the Hidalgo-Pharr crossing. The website has the correct current hours but the app does not. The app says 6a-midnight for passenger vehicles. The actual hours are: 6:00 AM-8:00 AM (Central) Seven Days A Week (7) 4:00 PM-6:00 PM (Central) Weekdays (Monday - Friday) 4:00 PM-12:00 AM (Central) Weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
Multi bugs
Doesn’t work in real time
Seems useless
Crossing between Canada and USA at Peace Arch revealed that the wait times are updated every hour, and the estimated wait times are way off
Incorrect border crossing
The 3 border crossings in Nogales, Sonora are incorrect. One shows in Sasabe which is not Nogales and the other 2 are not labeled correct. Therefore this app is useless.
Useless for Pedestrians
As a pedestrian, this app is less than useless. It gives inaccurate information all around.
Not accurate
Several times I have used this and each time all the information has been incorrect. Waiting in line for 4 hours because it said 20 minutes instead of going to another port. Was told the other one was over 5 hours, yet, my family crossed in25 minutes! Deleting this app now. I quit.
Don’t trust it
Wait time said 60 minutes. It took 5 hours don’t waste your time with this app
