Workflow disruption
Completely changed how sheets are handled and synced with iCloud Drive to provide a more managed experience. Difficult to make manual backups/manage data. Maddening new interface with no intro/walkthrough on first run. Garbage ChatGPT feature (which requires separate subscription) shoehorned into the app. Can't revert to Soulver 2. Send me back in time so I never upgraded this app.

I literally have waited this app for years, this is the calculator, like nothing in the whole store bot even getting close to this bit of software when it comes to do some math on the go. I mean really, dude, you try it — you buy it.

The thoughtfulness in the design—not just how it looks but how it works—is unmatched. It’s like the creator of Soulver understood something about how normal people just need to quickly and easily do math and somehow came up with an unrivaled solution. Quickly create and use variables for, do quick unit conversions, and keep several “sheets” ready for reference on your frequent types of calculations. I’ve used Soulver for macOS for years, Soulver 2 on iPhone for years, iPad too. And it’s a no brainer to pay for all three. No subscription. Buy it once and own it.
United StatesReally quite expensive for such "simplicity"
I just used the app to add up all the licenses and the add-on bells-and-whistles subscription, and it came to just shy of $100, with $30 of that recurring next year. I really hope I can get that much utility out of it. I'll be putting it through its paces, but right now it's going to be hard for me to be impressed to that level. Simplicity is great, but I detect a bit of an imbalance between depth of function and and price here. For instance, I already see a lack of higher level functionality when it comes to specifying custom date output formats. Time will tell if I keep finding things I expect it to do but it can't.

# Minor improvements - Added a contextual menu (via a long press) on answer tokens to turn them into plain text, or show the line they reference - When importing Soulver 2 files (.soulver), the file name is no longer automatically inserted as the sheet heading (#) if the file is named Draft or Untitled - Soulver no longer automatically shows the keyboard on iPhone when switching to another sheet (this behaviour matches the Notes app) - Improved the Soulver launch screen # Bug fixes - Fixed an issue where some users were not able to get past the launch screen due to iCloud hanging while downloading an existing sheetbook onto your device when requested - Fixed a crash on iPhone when showing the custom keyboard editor while editing an external sheet (.slvr) - Fixed an issue where the open sheet URL action was only cosmetically selecting the requested sheet - Fixed a bug with the "New Sheet" home screen action (on iPad) not working when the app had not yet been launched
