The OpConnect smartphone application lets users locate electric vehicle charging stations through a searchable map with GPS capability and pay for charging on those stations with an OpConnect account. The map enables users to view the status and availability of OpConnect managed chargers near their current location. Once a charging station is selected, driving directions are offered. Also, stations can be saved to the user’s favorites, allowing quick and easy access to the stations they use the most. Additional features include viewing charging session and billing history, managing payment cards, and editing their profile for OpConnect members
OP Chargers not maintained. No help.
The app only has a way to "like" a station, but no way to report that it isn't functioning. The error codes aren't labeled in any useful way. "Error code 13" isn't particularly human-scrutable, but it probably means the wifi or bluetooth on the charger isn't working, and the app doesn't offer any obvious way to report it or address it. What a ridiculous waste of resources to install all these chargers and not have any way to receive feedback about whether they are even working! Public planners: Stay away from this company.
Clunky but Nearby
50% of the time, it works every time! Currently, only one of two chargers closest to my apartment is working. It’s been like that for at least a couple weeks now. I’d report it in the app but I can’t figure out how. I don’t think there’s a way to report it. Even when both plugs are working, I plug in and it thinks and thinks and thinks before finally connecting and starting to charge. Meanwhile, I’m just standing there like a doofus looking at my phone. On the bright side, it didn’t charge me for charging several times in the past. Yay!!! Free!!! The rates are ridiculous. I could literally go to a Tesla Supercharger and it’d cost about the same but take one sixth the time. The only reason I use this thing is because it’s right in front of my apartment and it’s usually available. They are in dire need of an app upgrade and a team of technicians to fix their broken chargers. I’m rooting for you OpConnect! Thanks for the free juice!
This app always fails
I always get an “Error 13” message when trying to use this app, or that it can’t find the station. What kind of app fails so often you can’t pay for their service. Every time I see one of these chargers I know I’m going t have to spend at least 20 minutes extra playing roulette with the stupid app.
Barely reviewable
This app is broken 90% of the time
The infrastructure needs to be improved
The app used to charge a car is based on WiFi or cell service. When you’re in a garage that limits both of these. That puts the customer in a compromised situation. No WiFi or cell service means no charge. This was a learning experience renting a Tesla on a vacation in Hawaii to experience what it would be like to own an electric car. Not sold. Not until the infrastructure is in place and improved.
Most expensive slowest charging system out there
If your gonna charge .18 cents a kw off peak better let my car supercharge or charge in few hours. This is nonsense the costs!
Customer service technicians never call back
Awful customer service. They don’t alert you if they have an outage. You call and get their answering service who aren’t trained to troubleshoot problems. You are told a technician will call you back. This Never happens. No apology and no service
- Improved Forgot Password process - Improved scan BLE stations nearby - Improved error message when credit card denied - Added possibility to leave a rating for charging session - Improved leaving a rating on App Store for the application - Correct handling of American Express card - Various crash fixes and bug fixes
