Extremely poor WiFi connectivity
There needs to be a complete overhaul of the WiFi feature. The feature loses connectivity consistently and needs constant reset. I believe the feature needs a firmware upgrade to fix. Hopefully the company is working on it.
How is Vaultek still selling this?
Upon first downloading the app, I couldn't even sign up for a new account. Kept getting the error message: "Unknown error: [Errno 113] No route to host" It's worth noting that I'm a product designer myself and this is the kiss of death for any product not to even allow a new user to progress past the signup state. Im returning this safe before I even unbox it. I had heard from gun stores that the WiFi and biometric technology is just not ready for prime time. I unfortunately didn't heed their warnings.
Flaming garbage - run away
I own 5 of these Bluetooth and WiFi - the WiFi app is complete garbage and makes the product effectively worthless. Can’t connect, can’t change settings, the list goes on.
Wifi connection very invasive
@Vaultek — pass this on to your engineers. This device is an IoT (Internet of things) device and this should be untrusted. It should not require scanning your network, having access to unsafe protocols, and the like. My Wi-Fi network was connected in ‘guest mode’, which prevents peer access. The safe should permit connecting to the Internet, **without** having to speak to other devices on the network. I suspect that a lot of the reasons why you’re getting Kahn duty issues is because of how presumptive you are here.
Won’t connect to WiFi
Absolute garbage. Returning two of these $650 safes to Amazon…. Won’t connect to my 2.4ghz network (which it requires). All of their apps have horrible reviews, and they’ve done nothing to fix things.
Says safe is always offline, when it’s not.
Vaultek sells itself as a tech savvy option, but this app is not usable. The safe says it is online, and I get notifications on my phone for open doors and such, but the app just says it is offline and there is no real time monitoring of locked status, temperature/humidity, etc.
Frustration
Couldn’t remember code so tried to reset password. Stuck in an endless loop between reset password and the system thinking I’m not registered. Maddening.
You can now permanently delete your account and safe data.
