Thermostat doesn’t actually work

I’ve tried so many times to use the app to set my thermostat, I use it while I’m in my own home and it still doesn’t work. The app doesn’t change anything on my real thermostat. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app and still nothing.

Temperature never changes!

Temp never changes no matter the settings. It’s set in stone at 71° and my bill has increased by $100.

WiFi issues

Ever since the most recent app update my thermostat can no longer connect to WiFi in app and I can no longer access / control the thermostat or lock from the app. Would you please fix or update this? Thank you!

Would’ve preferred my own smart stuff

I live in a managed building and iApartments was installed recently in all apartments here. 1. Despite using a Yale AssureLock, you can’t connect it to HomeKit and it would not allow you to take full advantage of the smart lock like Yale’s Apple Watch app. It’s only done through their app. 2. The thermostat is their own brand, and does not support HomeKit. Neither are the leaking sensors. 3. No Apple Watch app, no widgets, no Shortcuts support, no Siri support, no HomeKit or Home Key support, not even bluetooth proximity support. You’re tied to this app, which takes a long time to load and refresh, so it takes way too long to open the door through the app. Can’t do automations, can’t quick-access from my phone’s lock screen. 4. The privacy policy is spooky. They say they collect data about a bunch of stuff, including some identifying info like phone number, device model or email, and will use it for targeted marketing. They also collect usage of their devices so they know when I’m heating my apartment or when my door is unlocked. I don’t want them to know that. This was forced on me by the building and I would’ve preferred to choose my own smart devices to install that work with the rest of my HomeKit products, like my light fixtures, HomePods, door sensors and cameras. At least put some effort into the app itself to be better for iOS users, like having a widget or Shortcuts support, so that I can save time and make automations for my entire home with the push of a button.

Appears to be a scam.

iApartments equipment was installed in my complex without anybody’s consent. None of their products work. The door lock has been dead since August (for 7 months as of this review). The panel went black within 2 months of installation, it should be fairly easy to change the battery—good luck getting them to come out! As of December (3 months, as of this review) the thermostat has been broken. I was left without the ability to heat my apartment in the dead of winter. Getting them to come out and fix anything has been impossible, yet I’m still paying a monthly technology fee for technology and services that don’t seem to exist. The thermostat had to be removed and replaced with an older Honeywell thermostat just so I can heat my apartment above 58 degrees. The hub doesn’t work. Absolutely worthless tech and worthless company. Avoid at all costs.

Unreliable

Complex switched to this app and it’s mediocre at best. Very unreliable. Constantly says it’s not connected. Logs out all the time and is not HomeKit compatible. Avoid it.

This app stinks

Cannot reset the door passcode from the randomly generated initial passcode. The thermostat schedule does not accurately maintain the right settings. User interface is wildly lacking. If you’re apartment managers force this for you and plan to charge you another $20/mo for the service, like mine did, then they hate you.
