Daikin One Home Review
Coming from a NEST app, Daikin’s app is a little lacking. It doesn’t have the features of the NEST and is not intuitive. Thankfully my HVAC system is fully automatic so I don’t have to mess it with it too much right now.
A/C great Thermostat meh
Overshoots, poor temp control, buggy.
Almost great
Just needs a timer function for the fan. I love how my old nest just let me run the fan for a period of time (15 mins to a couple of hours) which was perfect. Really frustrating that this doesn’t have that simple timer function for the fan.
MK
Great App, but I cannot keep it connected to my Wi-Fi on T-Stat. Must keep selecting “reconnect to Wi-Fi”. If I keep the App running in the background (not closing it) it seems to stay connected longer. I have discussed with Daikin staff with unsuccessful results.
Control from iPhone
Hello, I’m unable to control the fan from my iPhone. Have to control it from the thermostat. ☹️
3.2 Not usable on M1 Macs
But 3.1.0 still works just fine. If you have auto update on App Store Apps, then 3.1.0 gets "updated" to 3.2.6 after two days which cannot be configured to show what is needed. The new version works fine on iPads and iPhones. I have two Daikin systems--one has 4 Zones--so I like to have the app open on one of my Macs full time.
Keeps kicking off Wi-Fi
It seems over 1/2 the time I want to use the app, it is off-line from the Wi-Fi. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve reset it, only to be dropped from Wi-Fi the next day. Usually in the morning when I want to adjust the temperature is when it is down. Signal is fine. I wish I could convert it to Nest like the rest of my units are on.
