Excited for reliable home testing options
As the developers have stated there’s room for improvement with this app, and I’m excited for a day when it does provide reliable results. For a healthy individual, this is a great option to give you an idea. Unfortunately, for those that actually need this, it’s not reliable yet. I have faith that maybe someday it will be though! As a mom of a kiddo with hemolytic anemia, conditions with the same symptoms, on top of delicate and difficult veins; this would be an absolute game changer. We’re only a month into this nightmare, and truthfully I haven’t really known when it was time to take her in since the first time she was hospitalized. That was only because she was ghost white with a yellow tinge and couldn’t keep anything down. Four transfusions and two hospitalizations later, I’m constantly second guessing myself. Is it her POTS, autonomic dysfunction, or is she hemolyzing again?? This poor kid is a tough poke, her veins go flat or blow extremely easily; so her poor arms are covered in bruises from draws and IV’s. When we tried the app we had decent natural lighting, her first reading was 11.3 the second a few minutes later was 14.5. When I tried myself it said 10.3, which I know from recent bloodwork is no where close to accurate (not even the +\- 2.4 points). I’m hopeful that development and research continues because this would be so amazing for IMHA and anemia patients in general.
Not even close, do not believe false reviews
Three app readings for my wife at 8.4, 8.6, and 8.9. Her hemoglobin was 3.6 and were doing a blood transfusion. We never took a iPhone app seriously for medical knowledge but figured we would try it as we knew we were heading in for the lab at the hospital. Please don’t use this for medical guidance in any way, it’s an app on a cell phone.
Disappointed
I really wanted to love this because I need it! I am an HHT patient that often requires blood transfusions and iron infusions. The results on anemocheck vary 5 whole points in a day, or in within a few minutes. I can not trust the accuracy. Been giving it time to calibrate to my blood test results, but it still is unreliable. Because of a special promo discount, I purchased the app for a year. I am regretting that choice. It didn’t save me, it’s costing me -money and peace of mind. I really wished this worked for me as other people are reviewing.
The test
It’s very accurate I just left the hospital and the numbers on my blood rate are almost identical…
Nonsense app
I came up severely anemic today. Thought this would be a good way to monitor it. It was not. Each time is came up showing too much iron. Bummer.
Was good when it worked
It was good when it worked helped assure me my anemia went away but I paid for it and now it’s not working and Apple won’t give me a refund. I tried contacting the creators and just got said an error occurred. Oh well
Doesn’t estimate correctly.
This app put me at a healthy level of over 13. I just had bloodwork yesterday and my levels are 7.9. I wouldn’t bother wasting your time or money. That’s a super dangerous difference in estimated and actual levels. I’m aware that this is not a diagnostic tool but the ranges are waaaay off. Could cause someone to delay going to the Dr.
We are always making changes and improvements to AnemoCheck Mobile. Keep your updates turned on to make sure you don’t miss a thing.
