Openroad is the FREE app that detects car crashes and gets you help from trained responders - even when you can't respond. “When I received a text and it said we noticed you’ve been in an accident, I’m thinking how in the world did they get there? And who called the ambulance and police? I was thinking, wow, I am going to have this always. And I’m going to tell everyone about it. You really did what you said you do.” — Ralph V, Florida “I was driving early in the morning with members of my family. I was following the speed limit. Love this app
Open Road detected an accident that happened in front of me and they contacted me to see if I was ok or needed help. I’m 73 and I grateful for this free app.
Unbelievable
Thank you, thank you, thank you❣️ I was in a head on collision, because a driver lost control and got in my lane. He was going 75 miles per hour on a 35 miles per hour road. The app immediately notified my daughters, my husband, the police and paramedics. I had help within just a very few minutes. It was so appreciated at a time as such.
It’s ok
However if you pull over to use your phone you get dinged, if your a passenger in a car same thing I think of you use gps you get dinged this is. A major reason I won’t use something similar in my car insurance as they find ways to ding you !

Open road makes me feel safer
Very new
It excellent and helps me monitor my own driving skills
I like the idea of it, but has some false positives and battery drain
The idea is great. I have it trigger some false positives and even alert when I’m on a plane from time to time, but the biggest thing for me lately is the battery usage. My phone is a iPhone 12 Pro which was reporting it took 7% of my battery in the last 24 hours several times even when I’m not the driving. My battery has been draining faster as it starts to age. However 7% is a bit much and pushes my concern even further about running out of battery. The peace of mind of having a functioning phone out weighs the benefits of this for me.
