Highly recommended

This is a great app both in content and keeping you accountable on your sleep journey. I’ve been recommending it to friends.

Good program. Helped me quite a lot

I fall asleep just fine but I struggle to resume sleep after I awaken in the night. Through this app and the coaching , I developed much better sleep habits.

It works

The idea that you have a place in your house where you only sleep really works

Extremely overpriced with little to offer

As of writing this, I have lasted 8 out of the 9 weeks of this subscription. I’ll describe my experience and let you decide if you think it is worth it. For your first week you’ll start and keep a sleep log to help them evaluate your needs. After that week they set up a “compressed” sleep schedule for you to follow. the CBT theory being that by applying certain principles that help you develop a better relationship with your bed and a more rigid schedule that your quality of sleep will improve. You will have a “coach” that reaches out to you maybe once every 1-2 weeks during your 8-9 week subscription. This coach is supposed to evaluate your progress and make recommendations and/or adjust your plan as needed. You log your sleep every morning and there are articles provided with info/suggestions to read every day. Frankly, if you’ve already done some research about sleep hygiene and techniques to improve your sleep (I would guess most would’ve already before spending $300 for 2 months) then you’re not going to learn much new with these articles. And that’s it. I’ve used the Noom app for weight loss the last three years. It utilizes logging, CBT techniques, and personal coaching and it’s been very effective for me - and MUCH less expensive than this. ($200-$300 a year, not for just two months). Still, I gave this a fair try but no matter how much I’ve asked for help, I get referred to articles or tools previously mentioned. That’s it. Nothing else to offer. My sleep has not improved, despite trying what little they’ve suggested. Quite frankly, this whole thing felt like a scam to me and I feel foolish for paying $300 for so little in value. I get it - if you’re desperate you’ll try anything to improve your sleep. But honestly, I don’t understand how this app gets such a high rating. Good luck.

Sleep Restriction Works, Confusing Programming

First the good - I do think the sleep restriction improved my sleep efficiency. I was waking up 7 times a night when I started, down to 1-3 now. The app is visually designed well and intuitive to use. It’s clear a lot of thought & effort went into the app development. Improvement opportunities - Unfortunately, my sleep restriction schedule didn’t seem to be programmed well. Or there was a miscommunication of expectations. I expected to be back to my normal sleeping schedule at the end of the 8 weeks. Especially because my sleep efficiency was improving and averaged >85% consistently. However, for reasons I still don’t understand, my sleep schedule was maintained at around 6 hours a night for several weeks, and that’s where it is now that the 8 weeks are ended. I reached out to my coach who didn’t quite give me an explanation I could understand. I can’t tell if maybe she just made a mistake, or if this is really how the programming is supposed to work. At one point, my schedule did add 30 minutes, and my sleep efficiency was pretty good that week. However, the following week my schedule was restricted again back down to 6 hours. I really don’t know why. It demotivated me because I felt like no matter how well I slept, my sleep schedule wouldn’t be expanded. Which impacted my motivation to stick to the schedule (which I still did fairly consistently). I’m frustrated because I trusted the program to schedule me correctly, and I feel like at this point my schedule should be closer to normal. I’m not sure if it was an oversight by my coach. Either way, it’s probably extended my sleep restriction unnecessarily for another month. That’s another month of being tired, which is frustrating, especially due to the high price for the app. I think your team could improve communication & expectations about what the program will look like. And if a user seems to not be tracking well, have the coach reach out. Ultimately, my coach added some time to the schedule in the last week because I reached out. If I hadn’t, I would have just ended the program with a sleep window of 6 hours with no guidance on how to move forward… very frustrating.

Making it very hard to cancel trial and charging $297 despite having cancelled

I realized on day one of the trial that the program would offer little effect on my sleep as they didn’t offer insights I wasn’t aware of already, so I cancelled my trial/subscription. This is not to say that the program couldn’t work, but I’m already at +7 hours a day, so only looking for minor improvements. Then I get discount after discount sent my way to try to convince me to pay anyway, including on texts. I find this user experience super aggressive and annoying. Then I got charged $297 a few days later despite having cancelled my subscription and rejected the follow up offers. It goes without saying that this is a terrible, terrible experience. I might actually loose some sleep over how bad this experience was.
