OK app, TERRIBLE Bank

The app started out great for me and my partner We were able to save up money for a good year It all went well and then spiraled down so quick We only used to app for saving so we barely checked on it as we barely used it, we had automatic payments set up. We started using it to buy stuff for our baby shower for our first baby. Our card info was stolen and we didn’t realize until a week later. It’s been over a year since the incident and we’ve only received a tiny portion of our money back. Zeta has done little to nothing to help us out so we closed to the account. Shortly after we received an email that another one of our transactions was refunded but our account was already closed so we’d be getting a check for the amount. Half a year later and we still haven’t received anything. If you look up the actually bank the app uses called Piermont Bank , it has TERRIBLE reviews as well. Use it for small amounts of money only do not trust them with bigger amounts because they do little to nothing to help you retrieve it if anything happens. They had a whole investigation to prove I wasn’t committing fraud but I gave them so much proof that there IP spoofing order packages from multiple states within a few hours and they still declined my case.

Ideal Online Banking

I moved to Zeta after moving to One from Simple. I really need envelope style budgeting to do well with banking. It works with my brain and my partner’s and every time we had to move to another bank - we found it so disruptive. Zeta is the ideal replacement. Has all the features of Simple and more. The automation feature is helpful for consistent contributions to each envelope, you can tag transactions with categories and associate it to envelopes. The joint account is ideal. 10/10. I love banking with Zeta.

Scam

It was an okay banking app for a while, but it’s gone downhill over the years instead of upwards. They want you to “subscribe” to services they originally advertised as being a part of every account. Now they have decided to use AI chat bots instead of real people for the customer service… and that’s what drove me out. I could not speak to a PERSON about an immediate banking issue. Instead it’s just a chat bot parroting FAQs at me. Do not trust this company with your money. ETA: They have refused to finish a transfer in order for me to close my account. This is not a company you should trust. ETA after Dev Response: ALL QUALITY DECLINED OVER TIME. The services and “features” now available are not the same quality. They had BETTER services and features than what they have now. There is a paywall for features promised to be included for older account holders. Your “Bank” and customer service now reads (and acts) like scam artists. I will not try to reach out to you or your company anymore because I *did* try to communicate these issues long before coming and giving this public review.

Steals your sensitive personal information

DON’T BOTHER. I came here trying to find a replacement app for Mint, and was extremely frustrated. This app makes you input all your personal information - phone number, physical address, social security number - and then DENIES your ability to even use the app. Apparently you have to meet some special standards to qualify to use this app (but they don’t share what those standards are!), so they’ll probably just steal your info and sell it. Have fun getting spammed by the highest buyers thanks to these dishonest app makers.

Wants too much personal info

There's no good reason for you to need my address for doing budgeting

Game-changer

I used to dread managing my finances, but this changed everything. It's eliminated the stress and hassle - and made it easy (even delightful!) to coordinate money decisions with my partner. Highly recommended.
