Need more work
I have been with varo for about 2 years now and I feel like they are doing bad business here lately I called because I did not receive my direct deposit. When speaking to the rep he tells me there is a delay in direct deposit according to the engineering team and they are working on it but no time frame is available. I asked why wasn’t the customers notified he said it was an internal issue when people are supposed to be paid they should be notified of where their money is. This has completely turned me off they definitely need more work as a company .I thought things would get better with time that’s why i stayed so long. I definitely will be switching banks.
They stole my savings.
DO NOT USE VARO. They closed my accounts on July 27th and sent the entirety of my savings to an old address via hard check with no explanation or validation. It’s been over three weeks and I have yet to receive the contents of my savings account. They’ve been unresponsive to emails, and are nearly impossible to reach over the phone. Over three weeks ago, on July 27th I received an unsolicited email from Varo saying that my accounts had been closed. Accounts that had my entire savings that I used on a weekly basis. I was no longer able to log into the app, view my funds, and wasn’t able to get ahold of anyone over the phone. I emailed first thing on July 28th asking why my accounts had been closed and was given no answer. I called over and over again, but unfortunately to be transferred to a service representative you need to have a debit card number – mine of which had been shut off since they closed my accounts with no explanation. Finally, on August 2nd, I was sent an email with instructions on how to bypass the authentication and reach a sales representative. Although nice, they were unable to explain why my accounts had been closed, and also had no idea where my funds were. I had them update my address by sending a utility bill and they said they would have a check to me in two weeks, which would be August 16th, two days ago. I have received no follow up emails, no check, no explanation. If you have any issues with them, as of now, it looks like you’ll be unable to recover your own money. Thousands of dollars I had earned, are now gone and no one is being held accountable. Absolutely devastating.

Absolutely terrible app and customer service. The worst banking experience you could possibly have. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE, don’t get it!
Absolutely the worst bank.
I do not suggest using this bank at all. First of all I’ve had 3 deposits each totally 200$ transferred into the New Varo from the OLD Varo unavailable in my account since last month! However my account literally shows the funds available in my account but I can’t use them? Like makes absolutely no sense to me can’t use my debit card can’t make ACH transfer. Absolutely nothing my credit card sent back an automatic payment which I got charged 55$ for I absolutely hate this app and once my funds are Legit available for real I will be closing this account and taking my funds else where. I’ve tried calling the wait times are absolutely insane no one has the much free time. I’ve emailed a 100 times yes no one responds. Save your time and money go somewhere else.

they closed my account
I got scammed out of 2,000$ and filed a claim and tried to reverse/dispute the transaction. I had a lot of evidence including police reports and court documents that was submitted and varo decided that there was no problem, did not refund the money, and decided to close my entire account. There is no security with your money and the fraud department is useless.
