Fraud?
I signed up got billed app stopped working no receipt no insurance card called left on hold over an hour they picked up then hung up on me..did this three times and called my credit card company to dispute charges..who do these people think they are?

Please don’t let this happen to you. I’m 31 years old. Until December 2023 I knew nothing about insurance companies and really how things like that work or how you should be affected by them. I was involved in a accident on December 23,2023 ran into the back of a truck on the way to work. It wasn’t terrible but it caused my hood to fly up and front bumper to come almost off. I pay for roadside assistance from the root insurance company as along with full coverage car insurance. I’m paying off my very first car that I financed on my own after my parents passed away. I was blessed to receive good parents that took care a lot of stuff. This is good and bad following the tragedy of their lives, I didn’t know a lot about what it took in life to make it. Well I know now, it’s obviously better to not go with a auto insurance company that is based “online”. I wish I would have listen to my gut and paid more $ for STATEFARM or geico. Root has costed me $36,000 in one year including how much out of pocket I have to pay for my car to be repaired. Because roadside assistance never came to get me that off the side of the road. My family friend came and rigged up my hood and bumper. Because he had to pull it up and tape it with this metallic tape to get me off the side of road. It took them 6 months to get me in a shop to repair the damage. I finally just gave up arguing over them only paying $2,000 out of $7,000 worth of auto repair! All because I damaged my hood and fender myself prior? Nope I had to do that in order to get off side of roadway. Makes me nauseous to think about speaking to these people in claims. I have been told so many lies about my policy from so many different adjusters and estimators through root insurance. Gives me high anxiety and makes me think twice before going out on the roadways w/insurance companies like ROOT. I was desperate for cheap coverage, but I didn’t know how much I would suffer. Please be careful out there.

I pay $500 a month for insurance! I have a completely clean driving record and they charge that much ! They will have you do a test drive for 3 months to determine your rate EVEN if you PASS they will still up your insurance! I went from paying $300 to $500 in not even ONE MONTH ! I would not recommend you to use this app if you can’t afford it ! They don’t give you ANY grace period to get your insurance paid if you are late they automatically will try to cancel your insurance! Please be careful when you are looking for insurance this is my first car and my first experience with this and so far it has been HORRIBLE !

The app gave me a 9/10 driving rating and offered me a premium double what I paid to traditional auto insurance. This is a data mining scam. Don’t even bother giving them your data.

I signed up on the idea being a good driver would lower the rate. The app said it would measure my driving for a month and then give me a rate based on that. But it doesn’t. It did score me and said I was good 9/10 driver. No new rate offer arrived and all mention of that feature melted away from the app. In fact my rate has been jacked about 60% in less than the year I’ve had it, and today I see they randomly charged my bank account $4 several days before my jacked up premium is due. No notice on the price hikes and no explanation on why they’re just charging me a few dollars here and there, not notification that they did. Be sure and check your statements if you sue these clowns. I’m shopping for alternatives, I know every company is hiking rates but this company is just marketing a gimmick.
