VERY nicely done!
This is the first app I’ve seen (of any type) that is widget-first, and the result is a first-class widget that just drips with quality and care. Happy to subscribe.
In-app purchase REQUIRED
The description should be more straightforward that the app is useless without purchasing a (expensive) subscription. I deleted the app within 5 minutes of installing.
Buggy subscription
The widget on my phone and iPad randomly tells me I need a pro subscription, even though I have an active subscription. After a while the app or widget will work again, then next day it’s locked out again. Emailed support, no response. Kind of enjoyed the functionality when it worked.
Update just broke the watch app
Please fix.
Much to like but still rough around the edges
I find weather up to be a fascinating app, but I have decided to end my free trial and follow the app from afar to see if they can improve the experience. If I primarily used a weather app on my iPad or even iPhone I would snap this app up in a flash even in at 4x the cost of my current weather app. The way it opens to a radar map and super imposes weather stats over that map is brilliant and the speed is breathtaking. Unfortunately, I primarily use weather on my watch. I use the modular watch face with six complications and I use those complications all the time. I want a quick peak at the weather which when clicked leads to a more detailed view. I am unwilling to give up my large rectangular widget space to their very nice widget and I have found using the widget in a stack to be too cumbersome. I also wish for the ability to customize what weather data I see. Perhaps they will add a wider range of complications in future releases. If so, I will try it again.
Exceptional widget support!
This app is truly all about the widget, both on the iPhone home screen and as a Watch complication. Hands down, best weather widget I've seen yet, and among the first to have any kind of interactivity. Nicely done! The widget is currently available in just one size and can't yet be used on the iOS lock screen or Standby mode, but hopefully those are on the roadmap somewhere.
Far too expensive ($40/yr), great widgets, main app not so much
First things first, this app has the BEST weather widget by far (iPhone, iPad, and watch). It is a master’s class in information design. So, it’s mind boggling that the main app UI is terrible. Why not replicate the amazing graph from the widget in the main app? If the main app were just as stunning as the widgets, maybe I’d consider purchasing, but this app is CRAZY expensive ($39.99/yr). If you thought Carrot’s pricing was bad, this will make your head spin!
- Improved layout for cities with longer names - When focusing on a day in the widget, the day's summary forecast condition is also displayed - The app's name is now correctly displayed when configuring complications through the Apple Watch app - Various small bug fixes and improvements
