The app was great both before I got to the park and while I was there. I was able to pick out view points and hikes I wanted to do in advance and save them to a map that I was able to actively use in the park. There is spotty cell service so it was great to be able to see my location in regards to points of interest. I’m a die hard paper map user, but with the convenience of the phone app - I cant wait to use more of these NPS maps!

I downloaded this app a few days before arriving - including the Off Line Content. My husband and I spent a week at the South Rim. We drove, took the shuttles and did a lot of day hiking. Since there is little to no cel at the park, this app was extremely useful, especially since GPS was able to pinpoint us on the map. Suggest improvements for the developers. Use more colors on the maps. Color code pins, especially for the colored shuttle stops (like the hard copy pocket map); better differentiation from road vs trails vs Greenway Trail. Find a way to incorporate a distance to hike to X from my current location (similar to the distance table in the Pocket Map). Looking forward to more improvements!
