Duplicate entries by a stranger
Someone entered my father’s information incorrectly. Now it shows my father is his own son! I need to be able to delete the information posted by this complete stranger to fix the mess they caused! You have given us no option to do this OR a place or way to report this kind of thing! That is sooo wrong. I have been doing my family genealogy and record keeping long before there were computers. To handcuff REAL FAMILY by not allowing FAMILY to fix , perhaps, good intentions by a stranger fouls EVERYTHING up. I have physically searched cemeteries looking for relatives, taking photos and making connections. I haven’t put 50 years into this effort only to have someone totally wreck things.
Educate with rules first.
I was introduced to FG over 10 years ago. Having out of town relatives I thought it would be an awesome place to place flowers. Problems: 1. The mobile app doesn’t always find the memorial. You must go to website. 2. Anyone can place information by way of photo. This is a problem if incorrectly identified and even if you created or manage the memorial it cannot be removed unless go through FG and they agree. 3. Asking for support before a situation happens causes merge errors. 4. If you have a private individual account and have access to a group account ( school, church, societies etc. is forbidden) this is not allowed. I was helping my high school and before warning, FG merged their account with mine yet deleted memorials. 5. Caution using this app.
Robert Wayne Drake
Thai was my Dad. His father is Loren William Drake Sr. Someone is putting in wrong family members names & not half brother it was a full brother. I had all the rings information and someone keeps screwing with my information!
Where did the messages go?
I have been a member for 14 years. I had some good ancestral contacts in my messages. Is the problem that I’m on my iPhone?
Extraordinary in its usefulness
I don’t review apps but it would be a crime to ignore this one. I use it almost every day on my research. It is simple and yet carries a ton of information that has been contributed by the users. Thanks
