Great when it works, constantly breaks without warning
Sonetimes the Clipper will work for weeks, sometimes it repeatedly crashes on startup and I can't get it to show up in the Safari button bar for more than brief flashes. It's ridiculous. No other Safari extension has ever had this problem for me.
not showing up in Safari
The Web Clipper icon isn't showing up in Safari since I upgraded to 7.29.2.
Generally works well and a must have with Evernote
Have been using for years and just read many of the more recent reviews. There have been ups and downs with web clipper - in particular when Apple makes changes / restrictions to Safari. But I've found that the Evernote team has become much more proactive in the last 2 years under new management in terms of responsiveness and features. Most people don't appreciate that websites are extremely varied in quality and their use (or lack of) proper standards. So some sites just don't work well for clipping. That's when you need to select the appropriate clip technique (i.e. summary, full article, snap shot, etc.....).
Maddenly frequent updates that don't seem to improve anything.
Very much a love/hate relationship with this tool, mostly hate. App is slow to finish and frequently fails. Results are very much hit or miss as pages saved to Evernote are frequently completely broken. Finally, it drives me crazy that I am constantly prompted to close my browser to update the app.
Wow!!
Thanks guys, you have improved the Clipper so much, I'm impressed! I left a bad review a year ago and you guys have fixed almost of it!. This makes working with Evernote from Safari and Mac Preview so much easier!. The one thing I would ask is that, when on Safari and trying to add a pdf through the Clipper, I can only add a tag that is already available, the Clipper does not allow to create a new tag. Also adding tags from Mac Preview would also be great. Otherwise, you guys made this product excellent already!
Used to Love this. Not working Anymore
I used to rely heavily on the web clipper in Safari and Firefox on my Mac running OS 11.6.5. I LOVED it. Lately though, clicking on the web clipper opens a page in my browser that says login was successful. OK, fine, although I never logged out so I don't know why that's necessary. Then I try clicking on the web clipper icon once again, hoping that now open the window above the web page and let me select whether to save the article, simplified article, etc. But it only opens the "login was successful" page again. And again. And again. A thorough internet search has turned up the usual solutions that haven't worked , uninstall and re-install the web clipper being the most common. Doesn't work. It also recommends disabling some of the Mac's firewall/ security features. Not gonna do that. I really hope that Evernote gets this feature fixed. It was extremely useful -- when it used to work.
