Great but, oh, syncing
It takes me 20 min to figure out how to sync. Each time.

The app has been in maintenance-only mode for the last two years, with none of the new-ish iOS/iPadOS features (dark mode, multiple instances, etc) being added. A new version is supposedly coming out soon, so if you are thinking about getting this one, consider holding off.
United StatesHorribly Slow When Syncing on iCloud
The initial sync takes days. Seriously days. I have a 20GB database of just under 10,000 files. I rebuilt the database, no issues, repair and verify the database, no issues. The sync is lightning fast using iCloud between macs, but when downloading to an iPad it takes days... Not really an On-the-Go option here. By the way, if you are able to get it to sync, the database will clog up your iCloud backups so if you ever have to restore from a backup, it will also take DAYS. I ended up just giving up and deleting the App from my iPad Pro 11 inch. Very disappointed. I love DEVONTHINK and I switched over from Evernote a couple of years ago, but lately the syncing process has become ridiculous. I don’t remember it being an issue a couple of years ago...

Accessibility is poor - white background, with very small grey text and somewhat obscure icons. Sync down is solid but up can be iffy. Sync itself can take a good while if you have a lot of docs, and it can go strange- unexpected things will download, and file management is a bit baroque. It’s well documented tho. Was going to only give one star but the sync mostly works if your very patient. It’s a client, not a stand alone app. It’s a good step up from files.

I have DEVONThink for my Mac and use it regularly. I can’t however get the two to sync up. I’m sure there’s a way and one day I may figure it out, but it’s unintuitive and what I found online hasn’t worked for me yet...
