Description
Powerful Contact Manager
BusyContacts is a contact manager for macOS that makes creating, finding, and managing contacts faster and more efficient.

BusyContacts brings to contact management the same power, flexibility, and sharing capabilities that BusyCal users have enjoyed with their calendars. What's more, BusyContacts integrates seamlessly with BusyCal forming a flexible, easy to use CRM solution that works the way you do.

BusyContacts syncs with the built-in Contacts app on macOS and iOS via CardDAV and supports all leading cloud services, including iCloud, Google, Office 365, Exchange, Fastmail, Yahoo & Twitter.

CUSTOMIZABLE VIEWS

Contacts can be displayed in two views: A single column list view, or a multi-column table view that allows you to control the columns displayed (e.g. company, last name, first name, email, phone, etc.) and the sort order.

TAGS

Tags are an extremely flexible way to manage contacts in BusyContacts. You can assign multiple tags to each contact and a tag cloud allows you to easily filter the list of contacts by tag (e.g. family, client, prospect, coworker, etc.).

SMART FILTERS

Smart Filters are a powerful tool for filtering contacts and creating saved searches that can be applied with a single click. You can create Smart Filters to display contacts that match certain conditions, such as a text string, tag, or birthdate. Or you can create Smart Filters to remember view settings such as columns displayed and sort order.

ACTIVITY LIST

The Activity List shows a chronological listing of activities associated with the selected contact including meetings, tasks and other calendar events (requires BusyCal) as well as communication through social network posts.

BUSYCAL INTEGRATION

BusyContacts integrates with BusyCal allowing you to link contacts to events and to dos in your calendar, providing flexible CRM capabilities for scheduling meetings, follow up tasks, and tracking past activities.

TWITTER INTEGRATION

BusyContacts syncs with Twitter, allowing you to stay up-to-date to tweets posted by friends, family & colleagues.

SYNC

BusyContacts syncs with all leading cloud services including iCloud, Google, Office 365, Exchange, Fastmail, Yahoo and other CardDAV servers, and syncs with the built-in Contacts app on macOS and iOS via iCloud CardDAV.

SHARE

BusyContacts allows you to share address books with other BusyContacts users with read-only or read/write privileges. Address Books can be shared through Office 365, Exchange, Fruux, Kerio, over the LAN, and through other CardDAV servers that support sharing.

UPDATED: I Was Skeptical at First, But . . .

It is very rare that I take the time to write a negative review. I have an extremely busy schedule and just don't have time to complain. But the recent developments with this product just compells me to say something about it. At one time this was what I considered to be awesome program! With a recent update however, changing to a subscription model, the service and operation of the product has become horrible. And this is not just because I hate the subscription services. I am now giving this product 1 star because the program no longer has the features it once had, such as integration with the Mail App and Calendar. But it now will not work with my Exchange contacts. It continually asks me to keep entering my Username and Pasword for by Exchange account. So in effect, they are now charging me as if I had never purchased this product but giving me a stripped down version that's buggy. In fact, it now does nothing more than what the normal Contacts application does. Nothing more!!! To make matter worse, they forced me into accepting the subscription service when I was just trying to restore the program itself. I was hoping that by restoring the program it would start to work like it has for years. To my surprise, I was forced into the subscription service. I was no longer able to open the program that I already own without paying for subscription. How ridiculous that is!!! If you read the reviews, you will probably see that the old reviews were very positive. Look at the recent reviews. Take this as a warning, stay away from this product. It is one thing to to be paid for upgrading the software by adding new features but ripping us off in exchange for doing nothing should be a crime! Actually, they are getting paid for making the product worse than what is was. What a racket! ORIGINAL REVIEW: First, I have to admit that I used the Trial version of this program for a full 30 days before I was forced to purchase it. I was very skeptical at first since it functions very much like Apple Contacts. Like you, I could not figure out why I should pay $50.00 for a program that does what Contacts does for free. The fact is that it does something that I haven’t seen any other program do as well. It keeps tract of all communication between you and each of your contacts and it does it automatically. For example, the minute you install the program, it instantly finds every email communication you’ve had with each contact and stores it in the contact’s record. It does the same for Text messages, appointments and To Do’s. If you need to keep track of your activity with each contact, this is an indispensable tool. In addition, rather than being limited to just a few categories that you can assign your contacts to, BusyContacts uses tags. That means you can categorize your contacts in an unlimited number of different ways. It is also very intuitive in the way it links various contacts together. For example, when you start typing the name of a related contact, it searches your database for the associated person while you’re typing. So, after only a few strokes, you can just press enter to link the two contacts. I really think that the program is over priced. However, I got so used to the ease of use and the functionality that I just could not go back to using Contacts. This program is well designed and easy to use. If you try it for 30 days, you will want to keep it.

Used to be good

Honestly there's no reason to use this anymore. The move to a subscription system, which now causes pop ups to upgrade was a terrible idea.

not free, freezes your screen when you refuse to pay

Title says it all, took me several minutes to get it to let go of my computer, 14 days free is all and when you try to get out of the program and just close it, it refuses to close and refuses to allow your computer to do anything else. Cannot get it rmoved from my desktop bar or from the app store, this is the absolute worst program ever, apple should remove this from the app store and it should be investigated as to whether they are compromising our computers with their stuff, I cannot get it to remove, I cannot get it to close, this is horrible, remove your crap from my computer!

Appstore update forces subscription

I'm not a fan of the subscription model, but I get it from a developer perspective. However, it is bad form for an app on the app store that was not subscription to make the switch without doing it as a new app. This update completely breaks the app. Unless you are willing to start paying a subscription for it right away, DO NOT UPGRADE.

A terrible system not worth the money

BusyCOntacts was free and was great. But now they want $33 a month and if you refuse, they shut down the app. So all of your contacts are inaccessible forcing you to subscribe ... Find another system that is honest and isn't driven by greed. I wish I had never downloaded this system and I am looking for a better one now. RAY HANANIA
