Provide a simple, connected smart IAQ solution that delivers an unmatched level of indoor air quality (IAQ) by integrating the suite of existing Broan NuTone ventilation products with a custom Mobile App to allow monitoring and control of indoor air quality.
What year is it?
Spent $1000 on overture hardware only to have the REQUIRED app fail before I could even create a login, which again is required. I fill in my info to create account. “Enter passcode” a popup says. No warning whatsoever but I assume they were meant to email me a passcode - when I enter anything it says “incorrect OTP”. Of course no email ever comes after several tries over several days. I am now on hold with broan. Wait time over 20 min. This hardware should not be on the market with an app like this. Even visually the app looks like it was made in 2010 so I don’t know what I expected.
cool hardware, terrible software
This app is so lame & awkward to use it ruins what would seemingly be really great hardware. It’s unbelievably unintuitive & lame for 2021 or even 2011….The screens don’t scale right vertically or horizontally, you can’t change the device associated without re-adding the device. You have to pick the exact device from a drop down (this is just lame, it’s not making anyone buy more Broan-Nutone fans. You can’t rename rooms or delete them once created. There are no controls or visibility into how automaton would occur to actually optimize air quality. And of course no surprise - it doesn’t tie into Apple HomeKit or Google Home. App aesthetics aside this poor software makes me skeptical Broan-Nutone offer actual intelligence to IAQ - and I don’t mean just saying “AI”. How about you start with clear manual controls or basic rule choices.
Suddenly Inoperable
App seemed to be working fine, albeit with a fairly ugly and clunky interface, and no ability to turn off the colored lights at the air monitor like virtually all other smart devices. Then yesterday it kicked me out and insisted I sign in again. My username and old password didn’t work. I used “forgot password” and they sent me a code to my email on record, I used the code, and received “no email on record.” Did this about five times with no luck. Then tried to set up a new account. No dice. It is now impossible to log into the dashboard, nullifying any value to the (rather expensive) device. I was actually testing it to determine if we would sell it at my retail stores. Given this frustrating app issue, I’m thinking not.
