most people don't know how much invisible information is stored in every photo you take. this data precisely identifies you, the type of phone you use, the camera settings, information about any edits you made, what apps you use, your iCloud account info, as well as your geographic coordinates and exact time. It may also include data about the subjects of the photo, your friends, family, etc. maybe it seems crazy to worry about someone or some company looking at this data, but you don't have to: metapho can easily remove all that data and you still have to same pic. use it next time you upload a photo to instagram, facebook, amazon, even apple—they all use this data to better sell to you. great app, easy to use, love the quick "share without metadata" shortcut in the share sheet.

I have auto-updates turned off, and I just manually updated from v3.6 to the newest version. Now I can't remove all metadata or edit anything without paying a recurring $20/yr subscription or a $100 one-time purchase. For the same features that I already had ten minutes ago. The was no mention in any of the release notes that updating would take away all of the features. I can't believe Apple allows developers to do something so dishonest and scummy.

This app doesn't actually let you edit a file without a subscription. There is no cloud service or anything that warrents the need for a subscription as all processing is handled on your device locally. Ripoff

Metapho beats the stock Photos app’s geotag remover (which btw is just that… it doesn’t remove other info like camera make/model) as it’s available anywhere with the Share Sheet. So media from, say, the Files app need not to be copied over to the Photos app to use iOS’s limited tool. It’s also useful for doing the opposite—applying metadata. I change dates of and geotag my scanned prints and created GIFs with it. And the multi-select tool makes it efficient. Plus the user interface has got that stock iOS feel.
