Tech issue or scamming?
I was excited to find a new app designed for professional photography. There’s still not many choices. I really liked it a lot during the free trial. It’s easy to interact with photographers’ posts, and the bookmark effect is cool, too. It was after the free trial when things started going wrong. I decided to give it a shot for the next year with the annual membership which was $39.99. Well it ended up charging nearly $15 more at $54.86 instead, which definitely shouldn’t have happened. I emailed Glass support about this twice, & still today no actual response. Just the automated set-one saying they will respond, but they don’t. So then I emailed again for a refund & nothing. This app seemed cool, but they don’t seem to care to scam you. This experience looks like it’s become more common..
I just have one question:
Why? There is no need for a paid photo app. No one asked for a snobbier/exclusive photography app to further fleece our shrinking community. Flickr already has a paid option if you need to be surrounded by the misguided and delusional.
App Does Not Recognize My Subscription
I would love to try to use the application, but I’m unable to unfortunately. I purchased the subscription, my card was charged, and iOS settings show the subscription, but the app says I need to pay. Obviously I’ve restarted my device, forced closed the app, nothing has worked. I’ve also contacted support nearly 5 times. Radio silence.
Second to none
Glass is so clean, pure and therapeutic. Photographers from all over the world submitting their work. This is a app for photographers, where your work will be displayed in high resolution and truly appreciated. This is my preferred platform, where I feel safe and proud to showcase my photography. Glass is home.
Well thought out
This app has no algorithm designed to keep you hooked, rather a simple labeling method to find photos that interest you along with an ai powered search for more specific searches. It’s simple clean and worth the cheap subscription. Don’t use this if your looking for followers but rather if you want inspiration for photos and somewhere to share your own.
Took my money & won’t let me use the app
I bought the membership because I wanted to use the trial. I realize it took my money even after cancelling immediately & to add insult to injury it doesn’t even recognize my subscription or account anymore…
THE Best
Now that I have seen how a real photography community and sharing app works I will never go back to Instagram, Threads, X or any other influencer driven, algorithm run platform again. I am not a professional photographer, it’s more of a hobby and bit of therapy for me. It is nice to be able to follow those that are and not be force fed advertisements. Glass seems to have a well rounded community interacting with one another instead of engagement farming post designed to be seen by the algorithm. So happy to not have to constantly see the annoying fake “I am following every photographer that follows me” type of stuff. I enjoy being able to see the equipment and settings that someone has used for their photo. I am currently in the market for some new lenses, it has been nice to select the lenses I am interested in and be able to quickly see what photos others have taken with them to help in my decision process. I really enjoy having the public profile that anyone can access through the web without having the app or their own subscription. If I want to have a portfolio to share with someone that option is there and can also be turned off/on. 5 Stars
