Roll is a community of explorers who navigate the world on wheels. We know the world has not been built with our community as a priority, and we seek to give you the information you want, to help you get out there with confidence. We strive to connect you with others and give you a tool to help those who come after you to know what they are getting into. Together we plan to give the real-time status of trails, bathrooms, and the accessibility of locations to help you get the most of your adventures and remove the unknown.
No Way to Add Reviews of places not on a predetermined list
The “Add a Review” section only allows you to select from a pretty random set of locations that roughly correlate to where you are. It doesn’t include the building I am literally in front of, but includes one 2.5 miles away. The building I want to review is even labeled on the google map! No wonder there are so few reviews for me locally. It would be great to be able to drop and label a pin with business information, or at least to be able to select the ones already listed on the google map. Will absolutely change my review of the app when I am able to add reviews for locations.
Wonderful mission, too buggy to use
Love love this app’s mission and intentions but it was too buggy on iOS to use. The search function was hardly usable, it automatically selects filters (don’t recommend that) and the search didn’t really function. Also I see how location access is helpful but you should allow the app to work without accessing location, let people search by town or business name or manually using the map. When I tried to sign up, similarly, the forms weren’t functioning fully and although I wasn’t using Voice Over, honestly I don’t think this app is digitally accessible (ironically). Problems with the form fields, the tap targets are too small, the UI elements don’t have the right order/ placement, and more. It would not pass WCAG 2.2 AA standard and likely wouldn’t pass A standards (lowest bar for accessibility). Please work on the bugs and the accessibility and the privacy and I’ll be happy to come back.
Great App with a great mission
This app allows you to participate in inclusion in real time. There’s nothing worse than setting plans to meet people somewhere, and when you get there it’s not wheelchair accessible. More important this accessibility information is coming from your peers versus business owners who may think they’re accessible when they’re actually not. Great updates and support from the Roll team to keep the app running smoothly!
Sign in hangs at handle
I would love to use this app, but sign in process always hangs at username. 🙁🙁🙁
Use this!!
Whether you are going out for a fun activity or simply trying to navigate the able bodied world, this app can help guide you much easier while gathering data about where improvements are needed!
More precise questions for reviews!
Overall this is a really cool app and I look forward to collaborating with my community to start marking things on the app for my city! That being said, it would be great if there could be tweaks made to the review questions: -An “I don’t know” option that doesn’t directly affect the rating (sometimes I’m reviewing a place I haven’t been in a while and I just don’t remember!) -Clearer definitions: What are we qualifying as a “large wheelchair”? A manual chair with a wide seat width? A powerchair? Some more specifics would really help more reviewers accurately rate locations
Like AXS Map but with less functionality
This app is very easy to use, but it feels like a faint shadow of AXS Map - it lets you rate the entrance and the bathroom and that’s it.
