Description
Get the best out of your rides by transforming your smartphone into a motorcycle tool using the BMW Motorrad Connected app.

Use our app to plan your dream routes or import routes as a GPX file.

Thanks to the networking with your motorcycle, you can record all the relevant information about your ride if you want.

If your BMW motorcycle is equipped with a TFT display and Connectivity, simply connect to your motorcycle with Bluetooth to do this.

If your BMW motorcycle does not have a TFT display but does have a Multi-Controller and navigation preparation, then get the ConnectedRide Cradle and turn your smartphone into a motorcycle display.

No matter whether you choose the option of “fast” (direct route) or “curvy” (route with a lot of turns), you can always keep your route reliably in view thanks to voice announcements to your communication system and navigation instructions that are easy to see in the display. By using the intuitive Multi-Controller, you can control everything safely without having to take your hands off the handlebars.

Want to keep your friends up to date? Then easily share your riding data and photos on social media.

We are continuously refining our app for you. Stay tuned to discover the latest functions.

Application Notices.
•	The app is part of BMW Motorrad Connectivity and can only be used in combination with vehicles with a TFT display or ConnectedRide Cradle. The connection between smartphone, vehicle/cradle and—if present—communication system is established wirelessly via Bluetooth. It can be operated with the Multi-Controller on the handlebars. To output music, telephony and navigation information, the use of the BMW Motorrad communication system is recommended.
•	A mobile Internet connection is necessary to receive traffic data. This can result in costs in accordance with the contract between the customer and provider (such as roaming charges).
•	Be aware that the functionality of your smartphone and the connection to the vehicle also depend on national requirements and conditions, and therefore cannot be guaranteed by BMW Motorrad at all times.
•	The BMW Motorrad Connected app is displayed in the language configured in the smartphone. Please note that not all languages are supported.
•	Continuous use of GPS localization in the background may lead to a reduced battery life.

Still trash

Years and multiple versions of both this app and the TFT firmware and it’s still an unreliable hot mess- especially on iPhones. It’s so bad there isn’t even a pattern to the failure. One of the worst displays of proprietary engineering arrogance I’ve ever experienced. BMW knows it too- not only do they continually fail to fulfill the promises made on this architecture- they actually think customers should have to pay for their firmware updates. It’s not at all a stretch to call these failures a distraction/ safety hazard. Where are the class action lawyers? If you can sue car companies because customers are too stupid to install floor mats properly you should be able to sue over this ..

App is fine

Silly connection for maps, I like the trip records, that is nice, but…. Sure would be awesome to have wireless Apple CarPlay to simplify things.

Suggestion…

Continue making your own bikes, but outsource your App Development to those that are actually good at it! As an owner of two 2023 models (R1250GSA & CE-04), one R1200C-I, and one R1200C Montauk, I’m in love with my bikes. But I honestly enjoy riding my older R1200Cs just because I don’t have to deal with the Motorrad Connected App, and that’s a shame. Please fix the “Volume Control Not Working” Issue, and App’s “continued connecting to my Bluetooth when my CE 04 is charging, and dropping my Bluetooth connection to my house speakers”. It’s very very annoying!

Renders a a happy person into stressed monkey

This app is not safe to use for inexperienced motorbike riders. It adds stress. I have a R1250 2023. This app looks cool promises cool but can’t do anything well enough to appreciate it. First it wants all permission on all the time. In this day of privacy invasion by these businesses BMW is no exception. We cannot anyone to safeguard our data. Secondly it asks me to add new devices but does not do anything to connect my BILT helmet. So I added it to my iPhone directly. Next when I enter a place I want to go to, it searches the country and shows me a place in another state even when I give a specific city state etc. multiple times I have to stop my bike restart. It’s like the Microsoft CTL-ALT-DEL syndrome of constant reboots. Why does BMW put up such really bad software that is destroying the bikes capability do deliver a fun ride. A 30000$ door stopper is not what I want to bargain for. Am going for garmin zumo xt2. Cause BMW does not want to address this problem or cannot address its poor software development skill.

App does not serve its purpose

This app barely meets its promise. First of all it breaks all tenets of a well behaved app by requesting privacy permissions for location, contacts and everything all the time. Personally I don’t even give my location tracking to anything unless I am using it at that moment. But bmw connected app wants all permission at all times. Secondly the navigation maps are dumb, they don’t have many places, takes you to the wrong place and when riding the basic info like how many total miles visible is not shown. As this app is busy counting its navigation features., that it completely forgets the standard tachometer display. Apart from invasion of privacy, and bad quality map data. When I go to. Mybmw motarrad website. It politely reminds me to enter my mileage into the web platform frequently. What’s the point when they have all the data in the connected why can it update it. And by the way when you update the website next time you comeback it promptly forgets the data as if it had amnesia. I love BMW but cant get over this kind of problems on my x5, or my R1250 GSA 2023. On top of this hot pile of dog doo software which does not do what itpromises to do , we have the navigation platform for over a 1400 dollars. And you will still go back to using your iPhone. This is a disaster. I am seriously planning to ditch connected app and just add garmin zumo xt2 for a main navigation. And I do not know if I can. BMW motorbikes are dangerous if in wrong kind of traffic and this app will lead you into such mess , by its constant set of non working features, maps don’t work disconnects, and you need to shutdown your bike and reconnect the headset , iPhone and bike. How do you do that sitting in traffic.

App won’t connect to new $1,000 ConnectedRide Navigator

My phone is paired to ConnectedRide Navigator via Bluetooth. I have the current versions of iOS and Navigator software. But the app won’t open offering only two choices: Connect Motorcycle or Connect (the one I need since 2016 R1200GS can’t connect to app directly). I have removed pairing and started over and it doesn’t work to activate the app. Without connection the Navigator is a bricked device.

Want to like

The navigation took me to the wrong place twice in one ride. I love how it integrates with my TFT screen on my R18 TC but I want it to be more like Google maps where I can click and drag and change my route around easily on my phone. Once it finds a route there really isn’t much changing or adjusting the route. I wish that I could just use Apple Car Play on my bike.
