All analog (one exception)
I run an all analog recording studio and every piece of gear in the studio is vintage and analog. No sampling or triggering or plugins or auto tune. Just hardware tools. Except for this one sampler which does such a fantastic job of emulating the real mellotron! This is one instrument that it has always made sense to me to sample since the mellotron itself is nothing but a very archaic sampler without any sort of special dynamics to capture. I think that Manetron took the right path by not correcting all of the eccentricities of the original instrument like the pitchiness and the short length of the original tape samples. The sound blends in so nicely with the other instruments in a track and lends some serious character whether mixed up front or tucked way back where it can really pass as a string section with the right arrangement. Been using it for almost a decade now. No complaints here!
incredible!!
This app sounds great, especially if you run it through one of the amp emulators built into Garageband. Best mellotron app i’ve found; i just wish there were more instrument options to choose from.
An amazing tool for recording and live performances
I’ve been using this for recording and live performance for years now. Incredibly useful and accurate. Thank you!!
No virtual midi
Poor. core midi only, really? This could be so much more useful with more development
Very Accurate Sounding
By leaving the tape hiss on every sample and including optional motor and mechanical click sounds, this is hands down the most accurate Mellotron app on iOS. Only slight bummer is that only seven sounds are featured, but they're definitely the most commonly used (3 violins, flute, cello, etc). M3000 has more sounds (both from the start and with in app purchases) but lacks a lot of the character that made the Mellotron an incredibly special instrument (though to be fair, it's still a great app). If I had to choose one, the authenticity of Manetron edges out M3000, but I still use both.
Warts and all
This app is the best sounding Mellotron I've heard yet. Cool mechanical and tape warble sounds that you can veritably add or subtract give this app a pretty authentic sound. Wish list: more choir racks, midi programmable pitch tone volume knobs. ... but these are minor details. This is a great app
Entire app is out of tune
The sounds themselves are fine until you introduce other instruments and realize the entire app is 9 or 10 cents sharp. I realize it emulates a vintage piece of gear but this is pretty much useless
Add MIDI Channel Select Function How to set channel. (1) Click "Setting" App (2) Click "Super Manetron" (3) Set MIDI Channel
