Modoki is a Japanese word for "similar thing". The app doesn't use sampled real sounds but use FM synthesis. It sounds like piano though it's artificial. Supported temperament: Equal temperament, Just Intonation. You can connect External and Virtual MIDI devices. Some DAW can import this app's sound via Inter-App Audio. Two sounds, FM Piano-like and FM E.Piano are included by default. "Piano Modoki" can load KQ Dixie's current patch.
Small, simple, basic = Perfect
Just what I needed. Too bad no additional frequency modulated instruments except the two Piano versions provided. At the high sample rates and bit depths available on modern phones, there is no reason (hint to developer) that even more rich and more realistic sounds and instruments could not be “synthesized”. I’m all about digital!

No, I am not a robot. You would think there would be a popular piano app that wasn’t 200 MB, has a tutoring program, 2000 songs I won’t use, obnoxious ads, hidden subscriptions and suspicious app permissions, but that turns out that is 99 percent of the pianos on the app store, and the google play store for that matter. I just needed a simple, light piano app for when inspiration strikes or when I am trying to explain a musical idea/concept to a fellow musician. Who knew it would be so hard to find? But thankfully I found this app. Since there was only 10 ratings I was weary, but what sold me is the size of less than a MB. This app is it. Boots up in a flash, great response, easy to use and simple! Finally there is an app for that. The only thing that would make this piano god-level would be if it had chord recognition, like in Synthesia. But this little app has more than enough of what I’m looking for. Thanks!!!
