This is a set of Audio Units including Loopback, Vocoder, Pitch Shifter, and Noise Suppression. A host application that can handle Audio Units is required for use. Loopback (In/Out/MIDI/Mixer): Connects to each other and transfers audio between host applications. MIDI signals can also be transferred. Please note that you might not do the recording inter app. Vocoder: This effect processes the sound of a synthesizer or other carrier with the input sound (modulator) and outputs it. It creates a so-called robot voice by inputting a voice or other sound. By default, Saw (sawtooth wave) is specified as the carrier, but it can also be input from a sidechain or Vocoder Input Audio Unit. Pitch Shifter: An effect that changes the pitch of the sound. Noise Suppression: A noise removal filter using RNNoise. This machine learning filter is optimized for voices.
Pass audio between DAWs (plus Vocoder and Pitch Shift apps)
This suite of tools contains a “wormhole” AUv3 with a Send (Out) and Recieve (In) instances. You can load an IAA app in AUM and send it’s output over to Logic Pro that doesn’t support IAA apps for example. Exporting LUMBeats Drummers into Logic Pro for me! I have passed audio from AUM to Loopy Pro to Drambo and back into AUM just to see where the limits are… its a great new tool. There are few other app that have this wormhole idea but this is my favorite implementation of the concept. In a recent update a Mixer instance was added so you could send all the channels in AUM into a single into in Loopy Pro to make your loops (AUM’s loop making is not as easy to use as Loopy Pro). I haven’t dug int the vocoder, noise suppression and pitch shifter too deeply but you’ll get them as well and everyone should have these cool FX apps in their kit of tools. Hopefully we will see even more updates as users get excited and ask for even more functionality. If you are worried about latency… don’t be. An update focused on adjusting for latency between DAW’s that support latency adjustments like AUM does. There are some issue around sample rate that might need to be considered. Check the discussion at the AudioBus Forum to see the latest news. If this is your first KQ app… get them all. Great products that are implemented with excellence.
Loopback is terrific!
I’m not a vocalist so I can’t comment on the other parts of this great little suite, but I have to say the Loopback plugin is insanely useful. This little plugin makes it possible to use legacy IAA plugins with DAWs that no longer support them. If that last sentence doesn’t make any sense to you then you don’t need that part and should evaluate the vocal FX. But if you ever wished you could stream a drummer track from GarageBand into AUM or Cubasis, or if you wanted to use iELECTRIBE output in Logic Pro, Loopback can do the job. There is nothing else like it on iOS that doesn’t introduce huge latency. Thanks for this great little gem!
Invaluable
A very nice set of voice effects along with a very useful audio and MIDI loopback functions. Works great in AUM and GarageBand. Excellent support and updates from the developer.
Great suite of apps worth it for Loopback alone. Top developer!
Loopback is the only way to enable Logic Pro to record Inter App Audio as well as sending midi from track to track. The other apps in the suite are great as well. Extremely responsive developer-some of the updates have come within hours of feedback! Essential collection of apps.
Revive those old IAA!
Apple has deprecated Inter App Audio but some apps are still stranded there. The Loopback plugins included in this set let you bring those classic sounds into hosts that might not otherwise support IAA (like Logic Pro). It’s also available on MacOS but I haven’t confirmed whether it works to pipe audio or midi between desktop DAWs like Ableton or Bitwig.
