Terribly Disappointed
I demo’d the battery operated ReSound Gen and really liked it. I have hearing loss and tinnitus only in my left ear. When I ordered my permanent hearing aid, my audiologist leaned toward ReSound for the supposed advanced masking help, and the rechargeable style, so that’s what I chose. BUT THE APP! I wanted to LOVE it, I really did. But for the enormous amount of money the patient pays, the app itself and the overall control the patient has really is soooooooo limited and so disappointing. The app NEVER stays connected. And once you play around with it and do get it working (each time you use it), it never saves favorites, it gives you so little control overall, and the tinnitus “masking” is so extremely limited that it is hard to choose what’s the most frustrating of all the issues with the app. For the tinnitus specifically, I feel like it’s really just one sound with a very limited variety of different “wave patterns” (very honestly, to me this sounds like a tire sounds when the air is leaking out …. they just use that same sound different ways …. and my sound is supposed to be a brook). I guess with technology what it is today, and again, the truly enormous amount of money you pay for hearing aids, I never would have dreamed the app would be so regularly faulty. And for a patient who desperately needs sound relief, I was so hoping there would be sounds that much more realistically mimic water or rain sounds. What is here is basically a “white noise machine” that you can manipulate a bit using short waves, or longer, or straighter ones. This was my first experience with hearing aids so I feel like I should have done more research.
Resound terrible
The app don’t work any better than the hearing aids.
Does not work
Cannot get my iPhone 5 to link with the phone clip. App is not functional.
Doesn't work
3 iOS updates and it still doesn't work with iPhone 6. Phone intermittently 'sees' and drops clip, but never recognizes hearing aids. Obviously not a priority to Resound. It may be Apple's iOS but resound should do what it takes to get their products working.
Will not work on iphone 6
Worked perfectly on iPhone 4 but not now
Phonak better and less expensive
Am trying the ReSound HA with 60 day trial and will probably not keep them. So far it is much inferior to Phonak connection (although you must have the round the neck connector for phonak.) Most useful suggestion for app developer is to program an alarm when the iPhone or hearing aids get too far apart. That would prevent loss of the hearing aid or leaving the iPhone behind. ReSound is a big company with expensive HA’s. Should get their IT guys to work on this.
Good concept, Poor execution
Does not work with bluetooth device and iPhone 5s even when device is paired.
