Slow and lacking features - Stick with DayOne
I decided to try this to compare to DayOne, and in my estimation, it's not all it has been touted to be. Yes, you pay a one-time fee, but if you want to synch to your phone, you have to pay an annual fee of $29 for the phone app, so the fee structures are pretty much the same if you are working across devices. Worse than this though, Journey is woefully slow. Initially opening a new entry took 20 seconds while the program was synching; after synching (which encountered an error the first time out), it still takes about 5 seconds to create a new entry. This is on a new MacBook with extra RAM. It also lacks much in the way of preferences that you can change to match your working style and the screen and layout use quite small size fonts even on a large monitor. All in all, I don't see a reason to switch. Too bad I couldn't have tried it out first. I'll stick with DayOne.
Needs better lock system
You can just sign in with a google account and see all of the journal entries on a new computer. It should be locked with an independent code at all times. I would like to continue using this app, please fix it.
DO NOT TOUCH THIS
This product uses gmail dropbox which I stay away from for security reasons and then charges $29 per year for the mobile app, BE WARNED! nowhere is this disclosed in the sales pitch, I tried the contauct information requesting a refund , only to get and "out of office response" for me it is a waste of $20 as it clearly says works over all plarforms, the assumption is pay once and it works , but NO! Very pricey!
Mac desktop app bugs and suggestions
I can't find anywhere on your website to post bug reports, so hopefully this will work. 1. In the "today" tab, the "Often Together" mood box cannot be interacted with. Dropdown/buttons don't work at all :( 2. In the "today" tab, the phone app will show you entries from a month ago; the desktop app will not. 3. Suggestion: you should be able to copy the text when reading entries. Currently, you have to edit the entry and copy it from there (annoying extra steps; potential to make unwanted edits). 4. Suggestion: there needs to be more spacing between paragraphs!
Excellent Diary App!
Changed from DayOne to this app and never looked. I have the iOS and MAC app. Had the Chrome version but it was discontinued.
Buyers Remorse
I feel like I just got screwed out of $20. First of all, nowhere did it say that this was a google based app. I wouldn't have purchased it if I knew. Second, I download it on my phone so I could have cross platform availibity and learned that it would be another $29.99 per year. I feel like I just threw away $20 for an app that won't serve my needs.
Terrible Terrible Terrible
I wish I could get my money back. Everything is a chore on this app. EVERYTHING. Adding a photo, a chore. Getting back to the main screen. A chore. Navigating around the app. A chore.
