Through the app, you can: - Monitor and control lighting, home appliances, thermostats and other devices remotely using your smartphone, tablet or computer. - Save energy by setting up automated smart home rules tailored to your family’s specific energy needs. - Protect the planet and help Michigan prosper through less energy waste and reduced power grid demand. App needs a major overhaul so you can submit monthly payments. All other utility companies do, why can’t Consumers Energy? -lease fix so we don’t have to pay by phone or at a pay station.

As a long-time Consumers Energy Customer, I thought this was their app to see my account, usage data, billing & rebate offers. IT IS NOT! I was dumb enough to download this. Just trying to be helpful so you don’t make the same mistake with unrealistic expectations. I will be deleting this app, but unfortunately, I provided my personal information. Their privacy info which has not been provided to the App Store, says they can now share my info with others that may be if interest to me. I asked they don’t.

Day 1 The if/when rules are easy to put together. Whole system was easy to start up/set up. Every thing is very intuitive. Door sensors were a little finicky Motion sensors have good range. Smart plugs don’t seem to disconnect like the one my echo is hooked up to do. Would like to link our echoes and my Nest thermostats. If more devices become compatible available it will be nice. Have to figure out if we want to expand the kit if/when the devices are affordable/ available or if it’s just a nice little kit to mess around with.
