I am a novice triathlete. I’ve completed 5 Sprint Triathlons, consistently finish middle of the pack. I’ve decided to step up to the 70.3 and knew I needed a plan. TriDot has that plan. I have been following the plan which is based on my heart rate, previous athlete experience, fitness level and my goals. Since December, I have seen an improvement in my times. TriDot flipped the script
I’ll keep this honest. To say the apprehension is an understatement. To say resentment, is even more of an understatement. But with time, apprehension turns to resentment, turns to acceptance which turns to thriving. I was oblivious to what I could gain with TriDot, throughout the 2 month PSP (preseason project) and beyond I felt like things were merely pay to play. When I sat down on the eve of my subscription ending I took a hard look at what and why my FTP increased by over 40 watts on bike, 12 seconds of my swim threshold (2:02-1:50/100yds), and as a runner broke my 20 minute 5k time by 10 seconds!! Reflecting on that, whatever TriDot algorithm is in place, I trust it, I believe in it and throughout it all I have become apart of a great active community focused on creating a great environment for a thriving triathlon community. As a first time full triathlon chaser; it has lessened the blow to me apprehensions as I progress. You will find that things are done differently through them. Fast before far, strong before long. The mantra you will hear over and over…….and over. But as we progress, our strength increases. Strength is expensive and stamina is cheap. TriDot has definitely made an impact in how I train and effectively how I view the world of endurance sports in general. It will make you antsy and wanting more, even if you want more long runs, long rides, or long swims. WAIT IT OUT. Trust the process and your race day will be rewarded. I met a TriDot coach during my second Dopey Challenge this year (Ken Presutti) and kept with him the entire way. With doing my own thing and training for this “broken ultra” (4 days @ 5k, 10k, 13.1 miles and 26.2 miles consecutively), he peace’s out at mile 23 like he hadn’t ran through a torrential rain and 3 other races to finish far ahead of the pacing group he stuck with the entire time. Let that be a lesson. The coaches at TriDot and the people contained within are badasses and the organizational in general is worth your time to check out and find what level subscription works for you. YOU WILL SUCCED. Great Gains
I have been training with TriDot for one year now. I have done two full Ironmans and several half Ironmans in the past but TriDot has taken my training to the next level. Last season I was very committed to my workouts to see if TriDot could do what it said it could for me. TriDot led me to successes that I would have never dreamed of. Last season I PR’d two out of my three races and last October at IM Memphis 70.3 I got first in my AG 60-64 with a slot to Worlds. So those just getting started with TriDot trust the plan. It really does work. I like how TriDot does all the thinking for me and all I have to do is put in the effort. I like how TriDot pushes me to my limits but yet still keeps me injury free.
